~Story of the Thread~

This thread dates back to the 2001 World Series. Before we lost to the Arizona Diamondback - as we watched the Playoffs, DJ's awesome plays included - Yankee fans gathered in the old Request thread to request a Yankee board (how pretentious, huh? ;)). Of course, we didn't have enough votes to get one so we decided to start our own thread here in the Sports Board.

26 World Championships? We'll try to do better next century. The thing is though, we love them nonetheless...

Love that picture of DJ and Andy! Sometimes I forget how huge Andy is. He's 6'5 and broad.

Speaking of tall dudes, I still miss Sturtze, all 6'7 of him. Even when he was pitching poorly I still wanted him to stay.

Those are some nice numbers from the youngsters! Igawa, oy, that ERA. :D But there were 4 errors... He gave up one HR, probably a GS. 4 walks... Walks will kill you everytime. Poor Kei.
