New York Yankees #24: We're Keeping It On The DL. The Disabled List.
WELCOME to the New York Yankees Thread! ~Golden Rule~ Don't Bash The Yankees ~Story of the Thread~ This thread dates back to the 2001 World Series. Before we lost to the Arizona Diamondback - as we watched the Playoffs, DJ's awesome plays included - Yankee fans gathered in the old Request thread to request a Yankee board (how pretentious, huh? ). Of course, we didn't have enough votes to get one so we decided to start our own thread here in the Sports Board. 26 World Championships? We'll try to do better next century. The thing is though, we love them nonetheless... ~Past Thread Titles~ We're in heaven, Yanks are going to for 27 Our blood runs blue On odd days, Derek Jeter volunteers with the Mets (David Letterman's Top 10) Thaaaaaaaa Yankees Win! First, if you have a better title suggestion, let me know and I'll change it.
Second, we better win today. It's the best owner in sports' birthday. |

welcome!
----------------------------------------------- UGH I finally just had to change the channel. Watching this game is like slow torture. I'm just watching FRIENDS instead now, at least I can laugh for good reasons __________________

Today solidified it. We need to call up Stephen White. 2.43 ERA. 99 IP, 76 H, 40 BB, 65 K -- AA + AAA He's not our best prospect by any means, but he's the closest to being ready and he can't pitch any worse than Wright or a post-hematoma Chacon have pitched. Ship Wright out to somewhere for a bag of balls and let's see what the guy can do at this level until Pavano deigns to gift us with his presence. |

Oh my god this was the worst Yankee game I have ever seen. God, Moose better come through for us tomorrow. The only good news tonight is that the Red Sox lost too the Rays again today so we're still only 4 games behind the Red Sox.

I can't believe we lost like that..... I changed the channel after they scored run #10. I'm so p*ssed!
The Boss must be soo upset! Last year's July 4th game was amazing with the Giambi HR to win it, but this year, the Boss got no present! And neither did we.. Anyway, Happy Birthday, America! __________________

Wow, I'm glad I was at work. From what I can see, tonight's game was not only embarassing (19-1 to a sub-.500 team? wtf?) but absolutely miserable.
We definitely need to do SOMETHING other than let Wright and Chacon keep pitching. It's really discouraging that Boston's lost their last two and we haven't gained any ground. Trying White out might not be a bad idea. HELL, make Villone a starter. If he's gonna be coming in in the second inning, we might as well not make a 6+ run hole for ourselves to have to dig out of Tomorrow's gonna have to be another one of those nights where Moose goes 8 and Guidry picks up the 9th Side note: LMAO @ the thread title Heh. Maybe Moose can pitch the gem we so desperately need him to pitch tomorrow night, and our offense could (maybe) show up. And we could give him a belated birthday present? (this is me, pretending to be optimistic about the rest of this series ) __________________

hi guys, i love the title, but imagine if we didn't have so many people on the DL, the team could probably be beating Boston right now in the AL East.
I didn't see the game tonight but the looks of it seem really grim. Moose is amazing under pressure so I'm not worried for him cleaning up tomorrow, I was really surprised he didn't make it into the AllStars but maybe next year. imaginary_light--i love your icon. posada definitely makes me proud always. |

After last night all we can hope is Steinbreenear trades some of his pitchers for other pitchers. We got some ok pitchers that will do great somewhere else. It's a 4 game series so everybody keep your fingers crossed we could win today and tomorrow's game.

I feel bad because I bet Cashman is getting an ear full every day. I wonder if he is losing sleep again.
Though last I heard the Boss was being less irritating and really, nobody can do anything about the injuries. I'm sort of wishing we had Ruben and whatever happened to Ramiro Mendoza???? Maybe we can still pitch Small? __________________

Yeah but nobody picked him up and we offered him a minor league contract so he's still in the Yankee system. I just don't know if we can call him up and start him/use him.
I'm not sure how that works. __________________

Yeah I know...it'd be nice if we could though and gave him a chance to prove himself
