After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island called Lian Yu. Oliver returned home to Starling City to his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, his old friend, Tommy Merlyn, and ex-flame Laurel Lance. However they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. Oliver secretly creates the persona of the Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and save his Starling City.

After a year of trying to atone for his father's sins by taking justice into his own hands. Oliver is changed by the death of his best friend, Tommy Merlyn, who dies during the undertaking caused by Malcolm Merlyn. He vows to honor his friends memory and save Starling City in a different way - refusing to be the "killer" he once was. With his team at his side, John Diggle his right hand man (ex soldier) and Felicity Smoak, his eyes and ears (computer expert). The two most important people in Oliver's life and journey towards heroism. Oliver, the Arrow and his team are cleaning up the city and protecting the citizens of Starling. Roy Harper, who hero worshipped the Arrow also is also a member of Team Arrow. Alongside honorary member, Captain Quientin Lance (who once hated the Arrow) at the helm in the police department. Oliver has many enemies lurking in plain site will he be able to defeat them...

Description:THE TEAM DEALS WITH OLIVER’S DISAPPEARANCE — In the aftermath of Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) fight with Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Nable), Diggle (David Ramsey) and Arsenal (Colton Haynes) continue to protect the city in the Arrow’s absence. However, after three days without hearing from Oliver, they begin to fear the worst may have happened to their friend. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) refuses to believe that Oliver could be dead until Merlyn (John Barrowman) pays the team a surprise visit. Thea (Willa Holland) suspects there is something more behind Oliver’s disappearance and asks Merlyn for a favor. Meanwhile, Ray (Brandon Routh) tests a part of his new suit and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) takes up the mantle of the Black Canary. Okay, I fixed the page errors. The numbers were off since page 85, so I fixed those.

Yup, which means she was roughly 16, maybe 17 when she entered into MIT. I could see her finishing a tad bit early than anyone else. She started college 2 years early.

I mentioned her age to support TheCatBastet post, because TCB's statement would also work for Felicity's origins as teen vigilante. Which means the whole crucible arc, entering it for a reason, and all that stuff worked in line with also Felicity's story. Her's is not a physical aspect, but the mental aspects of a hero were in fruition. While Laurel's issues were entirely devoted to her love life and school.

I don't know how old she was in the flashbacks, but at the beginning of Season 2 they released a bio saying she was 25. So she should be 26-ish now? MG mentioned on twitter that we'd find out her age in 3x10.

God forgive Laurel for having a normal childhood with parents who love her and wanting to become a lawyer and getting married and having children. Not everyone can be as super perfect as genius Felicity.

How about calling the next thread "The bashing Laurel Lance Thread"?

Well from my experience on this thread the bashing of Laurel doesn't start until someone attacks an Olicity/general fans for not liking Laurel or bash Felicity themselves. Now, I may be biased but that's mostly what I've seen. That's what happened yesterday someone chastising fans for not liking a comic book character and people explaining why they don't like her.

I disagree that we spend the majority of the time bashing LL...........in fact several of us go out of our way to not talk about her period...........we usually only start talking to point out the LL inconsistencies and flaws in her depiction when someone else makes a state about LL that we feel the need to correct with verified information which gets responded to with hate and then starts an argument.

Which ultimately makes 50% of these threads weighted down in arguments.

Just because we you don't like that the majority of the people in this thread don't hero worship LL does not give you right to get nasty with us.

First of all, criticizing a character isn't the same as bashing, but it's okay that you don't know the difference. Second, if it really bothers you, go to the spoiler thread on the Katie Cassidy board. It seems like you might be more comfortable there. Lastly, did you come in just to stir up trouble? Air your grievances? Did someone wrong you personally in any way?
