After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island called Lian Yu. Oliver returned home to Starling City to his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, his old friend, Tommy Merlyn, and ex-flame Laurel Lance. However they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. Oliver secretly creates the persona of the Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and save his Starling City.

After a year of trying to atone for his father's sins by taking justice into his own hands. Oliver is changed by the death of his best friend, Tommy Merlyn, who dies during the undertaking caused by Malcolm Merlyn. He vows to honor his friends memory and save Starling City in a different way - refusing to be the "killer" he once was. With his team at his side, John Diggle his right hand man (ex soldier) and Felicity Smoak, his eyes and ears (computer expert). The two most important people in Oliver's life and journey towards heroism. Oliver, the Arrow and his team are cleaning up the city and protecting the citizens of Starling. Roy Harper, who hero worshipped the Arrow also is also a member of Team Arrow. Alongside honorary member, Captain Quientin Lance (who once hated the Arrow) at the helm in the police department. Oliver has many enemies lurking in plain site will he be able to defeat them...

3x01: The Calm

Description:In the aftermath of this victory, Season Three opens with Arrow now a hero to the citizens of Starling. Crime is down, people feel safer, and Captain Lance even calls off the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Felicity out on a date. But the second Oliver takes his eye off the ball, a deadly villain reappears in Starling, forcing Oliver to realize that he can never be Oliver Queen – not as long as the city needs The Arrow.

Lance calls the Arrow when another archer appears in town and starts skewering businessmen. Diggle uses A.R.G.U.S. to find the archer’s identity; he is a man named Simon Lacroix, who goes by the codename Komodo. However, the team hits a rough patch with the mission and gets help from a surprising source – Laurel. Meanwhile, Oliver begins to worry that he hasn’t heard from Thea, which forces Roy to tell him the truth about why she left town.
Ray Palmer pursues Felicity. In the flashback, Maseo tells Oliver that Amanda Waller has ordered his first kill.
As Oliver looks down the scope of the rifle, he sees the target is his best friend, Tommy.
Despite her promise to her sister, Laurel debates sharing a secret about Sara with Lance.

OLIVER SEARCHES FOR THEA IN CORTO MALTESE WHILE DIGGLE TRACKS A.R.G.U.S. AGENT MARK SHAW — Oliver (Stephen Amell) decides it’s time for Thea (Willa Holland) to come back to Starling City, so he packs for Corto Maltese, where Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) has traced Thea’s whereabouts. Lyla (guest star Audrey Marie Anderson) asks Diggle (David Ramsey) to go with Oliver because one of her field operatives, Mark Shaw (guest star David Cubitt), has gone dark in Corto Maltese and she’d like him to look into it. Feeling responsible for Thea’s departure, Roy (Colton Haynes) joins Oliver and Diggle on their journey. Shaw double-crosses Diggle, putting numerous A.R.G.U.S. agents, including Lyla, at risk. I posted to the thread guide page, I think they respond there the fastest. Reminder to add 3x04 ep description and remove the note I put about 8 being the mid-season finale, I was mistaken and its definitely 9. We just need to communicate better

I hated that they killed off Sara! I loved the premiere up to that moment. I'm still in shock and don't think I'm getting over it.

It was truly shocking. I was hit the face with all the Olicity feels then our Canary takes a swan dive. I was just like

I wasn't lying! It's totally true. You're going to see her in the next episode, and then you're going to see her in at least a third episode.

We have stories that involve Caity Lotz, and one of the beautiful parts of the show is, we do flashbacks. We still want to tell the story of what happened when Sara washed up on the shores of Lian Yu after the sinking of the Amazo, and how she met Nyssa, and how she joined the League of Assassins. There's still a lot of story left to be told with Sara. But we did make a contract with Caity for three episodes -- I wasn't lying! You certainly haven't seen the last of her.

FB ep has gotta be 3x04. That makes sense.

to the bold. THREE female characters in 15 episodes. Not to mention that 2 of them were incredibly kick ass physical presences.
I am guessing the conflict is how to deal with the info that Sara is dead. Other thoughts on what else it could be?

Laurel is very much at the center of that episode. We're also going to turn to a suspect in the killing. With us, you never know how things will get resolved.

I know fans are upset, but it was a pretty bold way to start the season.

To hit the hearts of fans emotionally, like it's such a kick start to the season.

WHO KILLED HER? Any speculation on that?

I think it was Ras, but at the same time she would have been more scared had it been him. Maybe Kimodo? but who would he know her... hmmm. IMO, it was either of them two
