The official Fan Forum rules are contained in the
site-wide announcement. Please read them and be sure you understand them. If you have any questions, this is the place to ask.
1. Be polite. Not everyone is going to have the same opinion as you, and that is OK.
2. Anti-threads are currently
not allowed.
3. No excessive bashing is allowed. Keep all negative thoughts to a minimum please. SOME discussion of an opposing character or shipper group is allowed so long as it's not bashing or the sole focus of the posts. This is by far the most difficult topic for us. New Moon is approaching and we know that everyone is going to feel differently about the film, etc. We are going to keep a firm eye on each thread to make sure no one is breaking the positive and fun atmosphere we strive for here! Therefore, we have developed a 3 Strike Rule. If a thread is breaking the rules, then they'll receive a strike. If a thread accumulates 3 strikes, then after consultation with the Moderator Managers, the thread will be closed for 24 hours. Strikes will be posted here and will expire after 6 months.
4. No thread titles are allowed that intentionally provoke or are disrespectful to other shipper-groups, actors, posters or fans.
5. If posting an art you did not make, either just post a link to it or alternatively provide the name/screen name of the person who made it and a link to their website/journal/work. Make sure you don't hotlink and re-upload to your own webspace or something like Photobucket/ImageShack. Do not quote any images, if you need to quote, change it to a link.
6. The following games are currently not allowed due to their off-topic nature - Anti ABC's, The Poster Above Me, The Poster Below Me, Three Word Posts, Word Association
7. This is also in the main rules, but we see it a lot on this board, so we will reiterate:
Keep “chatting” type conversations down to a minimum on the discussion threads on our forums, as they detract from legitimate discussions. Every forum on this website has an off topic thread where you can chat with your fellow posters, so use those threads for that purpose.
8. This one is just a suggestion. Try to post any news on the news thread first. Other threads move quicker and people may miss out on things if it isn't posted there. All news is added the the Forks News Stand's Opening Post, so that it is all easy and quick to find.
Spoiler announcement
We know Eclipse is just around the corner and we are going to get lots and lots of new goodies :yay: However, we must keep in mind the Spoiler Policy on FanForum.
Basically, you may
NOT post pictures of any spoil-ish pictures anywhere except the Forks NewsStand Thread or the NM Spoiler Thread
UNLESS these images have been released on TV
OR the magazine/newspaper has finally been RELEASED. You may not use these pictures for icons either! We want to respect the fellow posters who do not want to be spoiled.
