it might be strange but I wish there were ones out there.. but the good ones like the Cullens

and the myths about them go back right to the ancient Egypt and goes back time in time in the history since then, so...

I don't think there are vampires in the mythical sense but I do think there are people who mimic vampire lifestyles.

I watched a really interesting documentary some time ago where they looked into the whole vampire myth and how much truth was actually behind it... It was a good watch they also interviewed this guy who is a 'modern vampire', he drinks his girlfriend's blood and everything they did a few tests on him to find out if there maybe was a medical reason for why he craved human blood, but it turns out there wasn't.

I'm guessing it's a fetish. It seems kinda strange and gross to me, but then again I've never been a fan of the taste of rust and salt. I wondered if he had her get tested before he starting drink from her? It can be dangerous.

As much as I would love for them to be real, I don't think they are. I think it's just a good, and lasting, euphemism for cannibalism.

When I was completely obsessed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer I believed that Vampire's existed, but I don't think I do now if someone showed me a Vampire, I'd be all too happy to believe it, but not unless they do.

Oh and I also used to believe that I was going to become a Vampire Slayer and that my Dad was secretly a Watcher because I found a sword in the loft and information about a crossbow written on the desk in the office once... but that's another matter.

No. Vampires, like aliens, are one of those myths that I think would be really cool if they were true, but I don't think they are.

If vampires were real, I'd be.....scared....very scared, and I think if the human population found that information out on a global scale they wouldn't be able to handle it.

Not being on top of the food chain would be a major blow to the ego.

I agree with believing in aliens. I just refuse to believe we're the only habitable planet out there.

I think I saw that same documentary. Very interesting.

I find the subject of vampires fascinating.

Who knows. It's possible. But, I kind of doubt it.

i dont really believe in vampires since i know where the myth came from.

its a disease. its called porphyria.

the werewolf theory comes from the same disease. first you've got the vamp and then you get to be the werewolf if you wanna put it like that.

the biting myth came from a rabies epidemic that was going around when they first started to blame monsters for what people suffered from.

in human its genetic. and about every tiny thing the myths tell about vampires has a medical reason.

but even though i know its just legends without a truth i LOVE the stories and i love the books

There are more places where the werewolf myth originated from:

Noting that the condition is treated by intravenous haem, he suggested that the consumption of large amounts of blood may result in haem being transported somehow across the stomach wall and into the bloodstream. Thus vampires were merely sufferers of porphyria seeking to replace haem and alleviate their symptoms.[104] The theory has been rebuffed medically as suggestions that porphyria sufferers crave the haem in human blood, or that the consumption of blood might ease the symptoms of porphyria, are based on a misunderstanding of the disease. Furthermore, Dolphin was noted to have confused fictional (bloodsucking) vampires with those of folklore, many of whom were not noted to drink blood.[105] Similarly, a parallel is made between sensitivity to sunlight by sufferers, yet this was associated with fictional and not folkloric vampires. In any case, Dolphin did not go on to publish his work more widely.[106] Despite being dismissed by experts, the link gained media attention[107] and entered popular modern folklore.[108]
