That male demographic is significant. When the WB renewed AtS last spring, one of the factors that was cited was that it was one of the network's highest-rated shows in the young male demographic. If that slice of the pie has improved since last season, then we're in extremely good shape even if the overall numbers stay where they are.
So if you're a guy, keep watching!! (Not that we don't want females too ) __________________

I really don't think people are, overall, watching as much TV as they have been in the past few years. I know I haven't been. Angel is the only show that I'm watching on a regular basis. I just think people are growing bored with the lack of good programming and are doing other things instead *shrug* There are just alot of really bad shows on TV right now

I am sort of scared to see how the overnight ratings turn out for tonight's episode. I have not yet watched it, but from the viewer's opinions, the episode was pretty weak. If this week's episode was not too good, then next week's may be even lower. Guess we will see the overnight ratings tomarrow morning. I just hope the series dont sink down too low.

In the battle of the WB versus UPN, the frog net's combination of Smallville (5.8/ 9) and Angel (4.1/ 6) bested UPN's fading Enterprise (3.9/ 6) and struggling Jake 2.0 (2.4/ 3) by an average 61 percent. Despite the early non-success of Jake 2.0, UPN is being patient and has re-upped the freshman sci-fi drama for the remainder of the season.
- Mediaweek.com! Well, this is good. The ratings stayed the same as last week, did not good up or down. I just hope the audience will toon in next week also. |

And I still think Angel needs to retain a larger portion of the Smallville audience. Yes, it is doing better than last year...but that's not saying much since last year the ratings were dismal. I think the WB execs are expecting the show to retain a larger portion of the previous audience then they are so far *shrug* __________________

I agree that AtS needs to do a better job of keeping the "Smallville" lead-in, but I find it encouraging that the ratings have stabilized. It's now gone up against "The OC" for two weeks and held its own.
Looking at the WB's top to bottom schedule, Wednesday night is one of the network's stronger nights. "Seventh Heaven" and "Everwood" are way down from last year and Friday night is a disaster zone. So if the Frog is looking to make changes, Wednesday night isn't their biggest headache. Also, I understand they cut ME's budget last spring when they renewed it, so the cost per ratings point should be dramatically better now than it was last year. __________________

The Futoncritic is reporting fast nationals as a 2.8/4 in the first half hour and then a drop to a 2.6/4 in it's second half hour. So the final number would probably be in the vicinity of a 2.7/4. Which is the lowest number yet this season.

Okay, these are the final ratings for all 4 episodes:
ep1 Conviction: 3.4/5 and 5.2 million viewers ep2 Just Rewards: 3.6/5 and 5.2 million viewers ep3 Unleashed: 3.1/5 and 5.0 million viewers ep4 Hellbound: 3.1/5 and 4.73 million viewers ep5 Life of Party: 3.0/5 and 4.72 million viewers ep6 Numero Cinco: 2.7/4 Anyone seeing a trend here? The numbers have been steadily dropping. The first two eppies had 5.2 million viewers each, then 5.0 million, then the last two eppies had around 4.7 million viewers, and even lower for this last eppy. The show seems to hold steady viewership for a couple of episodes and then we see a drop, then it holds steady for another couple weeks and then another drop. That's not encouraging. Dropping viewership is not a good thing when the show wants to be renewed for next season. __________________
