The final national ratings
Conviction:3.4/5 =5.17 million viewers Just Rewards: 3.6/5 =5.25 million viewers (raise in the ratings) This is very good news. Last years premiere and folowing episode : Deep Down: 2.8 Ground Slate: 2.5 The season finale Home got a 2.6 in the ratings. This is a good amount of new viewers lets hope that the ratings stay consistant. Also some other good news, From TVguide.com: "The WB has given the greenlight to a full Season of Angel which has preformed well on Wednesdays according to Variety, the Frog network had the option of cutting back to 13 episodes if the show tanked." 'Angel' well for week three of the new season. Dropping down from last weeks 4.7/7, the episode last night (Unleashed) scored a 4.2/6.
At 9 p.m., and fourth behind baseball, the repeat of Law & Order: Criminal Intent and The Bachelor, was CBS's combination of King of Queens (7.2/10) and Becker (6.4/ 9). On the WB, Angel (#5: 4.2/ 6), which is benefiting by its Smallville lead-in, bested UPN's struggling Jake 2.0 (#6: 2.6/ 4) by 62 percent. - Mediaweek.com! |

Yes, baseball isn't helping any network but Fox. I just read that CBS and NBC are showing reruns tonight rather than putting new episodes of shows up against baseball. NBC did the same thing last night, too. Anything over or equal to a 4.0 rating for Angel seems pretty good.

Final nationals:
Unleashed: 3.1/5, 5.03 million viewers Previous episodes: Conviction: 3.4/5, 5.17 million viewers Just Rewards: 3.6/5, 5.25 million viewers The next episode will most likely also be up against baseball on Fox, but maybe the graphic scenes and partial nudity will help some. On the WB, Angel (4.4/ 6) continues to squash UPN's Jake 2.0 (R, 2.1/ 3) with a 110 percent advantage last night. Even so, retention of just 70 percent for Angel out of Smallville (versus 72 percent for Jake 2.0 out of Enterprise) is concerning.
- Mediaweek.com! Seems like Mediaweek is concerned with Angel's ratings, but I think the show is doing okay. The ratings went up from 4.2/6 (last week) a little. I can only imagine what the ratings will be when Sarah comes back to guest star. WB better promote it like it IS a Buffy episode, LOL. |

The ratings are up from last year, but I'm a little worried. If AtS doesn't do a better job of keeping the "Smallville" audience, the Frog isn't going to be happy. Wednesday 9 PM is a good slot, I don't want them screwing around like last season with the schedule shifts and the pre-emptions during February sweeps. All that crap started because Angel wasn't holding on to the "Charmed" lead-in on Sunday night.
