Absolutely I usually cry when I am upset, however I do agree with you that sometimes it just feels good to cry.

What is your favorite food?
Do you travel much, if you have what other countries have you visited?

Thank you but don't worry about it. That was six years ago, sometimes I miss him badly but I'm okay.

Quote:
Is gay marriage legal there?
Germany is a very liberal country, due to our past. Gay marriage has been legal for well over a decade.

Quote:
I see your point, but don't you feel we are to dependent on foreign oil?
No, I don't. It's just the German government that is convinced that nuclear power plants are the plague and while I think they aren't necessarily something worth keeping around for much longer, the fact remains the same. You cannot shut them off. They'll always have to run, even when they're on stand-by. So instead of wasting time and money on stuff(and believe me there have been some oustandingly stupid ideas) that barely works. Relying on oil? No. Everyone keeps screaming about the risks of nuclear power plants but the truth is that they'll be mantained properly within our borders and we have no control over what happens in the rest of Europe. If something were to happen it would affect us heavily nonetheless.

What is your dream job?
I am getting a business degree (specializing in Marketing and PR) so I would love to work PR for Bayern Munich. Or, you know, write for an American tv show.

What is your favorite movie?
Just one? I got half a dozen. If I had to choose I'd say The Way We Were. (Robert Redford )

What is the one thing you cannot go without everyday?
Coffee. I trink more coffee in one day than most people drink in a week.

What do you like to do for fun?
I write a lot. I play the guitar. Watch tons of football. Generally I hang with my uni mate, drink coffee and watch people while we talk.

What is your favorite food?
Thai food. Anything and everything that is Thai.

Do you travel much, if you have what other countries have you visited?
Oh, I do! 80% of the money I earn I spend traveling. Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, USA. In Europe: Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, England, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Turkey, Czech Republik.

What was the first show you were obsessed with?
The very first. Mh, the first I always watched was Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. The first show I was obsessed with was Charmed.

What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
One day after school, I stopped by my regular (they do know me by name) travel agency, bought a one way ticket to Sydney, went home and got myself a visa. 10 days later I left for my adventure downunder.

What turns you on?
Witty comebacks!

Well I do see your point. And I agree if not everyone is trying to engage in changing the process it does seem counter productive. I believe there are some benefits to alternative energy but yes you are right it requires investing in it and spending lots of money.

Let me see... not within my memory of course I think I saw Top Gun, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Splash, so that makes 1986. Better? I was 8 or something...

Quote:
Scifi and fantasy too? (note that I didn't ask about porn)

Oh no, nothing slipped in there. Sense of humor is essential!

You were right about the pronunciation of the names. Like Eve. Here it would be Eva. I like it more!

Quote:
Sispeo. no for real... I'm not sure. I like Gabriel and Vincent or David. Is it boring? I don't know. Kids today have names like Lamborghini or Sycamore maybe I should go with geeky names like Neo then
How about
Simple names seem to be a better and safer choice. but nothing wrong in being creative. Just don't let the kid pay for your artistic vein!

Quote:
You can't be asking me to play favorites all the time!
Of course I can!

Quote:
Are you offering or asking?
That was a question yes! But no need to bother!

Quote:
You can't wish not to live life in case it's going to hurt. I'm not making a whole lot of sense, am I?
I guess it depends what do you want your life for, no?! Most people seem to prefer not to feel. Like nothing at all...

Quote:
It would be awesome to be driven by pure rationality and channel all emotions into pure technical knowledge.
It would. But you can't help sense there's something missing. And when you find it, you might find yourself going crazy because of emotions you have a hard time rationalizing. But then, I don't know the other side, losing what you found. But I can only guess that even in the face of lost, you'll cherish what you gain.

I'm a tea lover AND a coffee lover. White is good, and puh erh too.
I like black tea, ear grey, darjeeling and ceylon; I loove green tea as they do it in Morocco, with mint;

I have an inability to express my feelings verbally which means that I end up in a lot of situations I don't want to. I hate hurting people's feelings

Damn, I could have wrote that myself! I'm really like that. And loyalty is really up there for me. But that sometimes costs me some disappointments.

I will! I've been dying to visit. Hoping to do so next summer!
Now, let me know when you're coming as soon as you know ok?!

I really like Sophia, but that's the name of my brothers gf... so that won't do I guess...

Aiden (Sorry Kiki!), Keegan, Christopher, Connor, Adler, Joshua, Kenneth and Ryan.
I'm not an expert, but those are mainly Irish, no? Any special reason?

Quote:
Those are some of the names I love. It's moot point anyway. For the foreseeable future, I don't want kids.
I used to think like that. (I'm older than you) But that didn't stop me from picking my children names in my teens. Back in the days when I wanted to have 5 kids....

Quote:
Last week, I'd have answered the latter. Now, I don't know
I hope you know more by now!

I'm having rose tea with some mint that Joana brought back from Morocco right now. I know it sounds weird for most people but I love rose water and orange blossom water.
Nothing weird about that. Interesting, I'd say! And I'm glad you're liking it!

Quote:
Come to Paris! I'll give you the Paris movie/book tour (we may or may not skip the Da Vinci Code part)
I want to go too!!!

Would you date someone younger?
It wouldn't be the age that matters to me. But i guess for practical reasons, I'd say no more than 5 years younger (regarding my 30's)

Which celebrity over 50 would you totally give it a go with?
Dana Delany and Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp (you meant only who's still alive right?! )

Would you rather die for a cause or kill for a cause?
Not sure. If it's worth dying for, is it worth killing for?! I don't know.

Are you controversial? Do you often play the devil's advocate in conversations?
I don't know about controversial. A little bit I guess. And I always try to see and argue for the both sides, so yes I guess...

Sorry to interrupt your nice game (usually I'm just lurking here), but unfortunately that's not correct. We don't have the gay marriage in Germany and I guess the United States might overtake us in the near future. What we have in Germany (for over a decade) is a so called "Civil Union". Every attempt to implement a real "marriage" has failed so far because some conversative polititians have averted it. Gay couples can call each other wife and wife or husband and husband, but they haven't the same rights as straight couples have. Fortunately it's only a question of time till this will change, because, like you said, Germany is a very liberal Country and even the most conservative polititians can't impede progress.

it's been a struggle here and we're pretty damn liberal. Now it's done but they still won't let it go. The Conservatives are polarizing opinions and they don't even really care. They just don't want to let the Left get a win with the gay voters. And they actually accused the government of "raising homophobia" by even starting the debate about marriage (yeah, right. Just like Kennedy and Luther King were responsible for racism by wanting black people to vote!)

Damn, it's been long dead this thread!

We have a few posters who haven't been in the hotseat.... Anyone would like to try it?

And before a couple of new questions...

Quote:
7 or 8. Long black. American. Simple coffe from the machine. Nothing fancy.
Ah Yeah, but that's not real coffee. At least not the coffee I was talking about, like the expresso. Now that is powerful stuff! But still, compare to others who also drink that kind of coffee, I guess that's more than average for sure.

Quote:
Hehe. Thanks. I'm spontaneous. Very, actually.
Yeah, I'm really not. I mean I can be bold sometimes, but even then I need to rationalize it.

Quote:
But we got even Kalinda here, I mean Joana, to share, so you'd have to be super private!
Little by little I get there, plus it depends how deep things go!

Quote:
I'm always up for sinner with sexy ladies
That's the spirit! I'm just not sure about the rest of the guest

Now,

What was your most embarrassing moment?

What was the silliest thing you've ever done?

They'll get used to it.

What was your most embarrassing moment?
Not sure if it's the worst, and really, it was not like public embarrassment but I did ask a guy out and he was very obviously gay. I was in high school and my gaydar was not really fine-tuned
He's working in fashion now and was obsessed with Marie Antoinette, Madonna and Kylie Minogue. So yeah, it's possible I didn't even have a gaydar then.

What was the silliest thing you've ever done?
See above?
Um no. "Silly" as in or "silly" as in stupid? Because I have lots of those.
If it's silly as in stupid, it's hard to decide which one is the stupidest but listening to my Dad and going to business school instead of film school turned out to be pretty stupid.

Ok, um, I haven't been on this thread since forever? And I'm not even going to pretend to catch up on all of it
And if you wanna have me on the hotseat, I'm up for it. Only I am not really interesting and people probably know me already?

What was your most embarrassing moment?
Hm. I think, recently, it has to be whenever someone talks about this guy who kissed (read: attacked me and it took almost a minute for me to get away) me? Not like he is ugly or annoying, but he was kinda dating the girl I live with and he kissed me and everybody talks about it and I blush so much whenever anyone brings that up and everyone brings it up because everybody saw it and they all think is so much fun to see me blush
So, you know, embarrassing.
(this also made me talk to the girl and explain things to her and she was like, whatever, he is dumb and you and I could do so much better. It was a very odd day)

What was the silliest thing you've ever done?
Well, I do all sorts of silly things. We sang the opening songs to Dragonball Z and Pokemon at uni the other day That was pretty silly, I think, albeit fun.

Quote:
So yeah, it's possible I didn't even have a gaydar then.
Oh goodness Well, it happens [?]
