The Good Wife Hotseat Thread #10 - Kate is up!

Thanks for the new thread, Kiki!

Time travel.
Oooh any particular time you'd like to visit?

Quote:

I basically love everything about scifi.
:high_five: I love it too. I love how it's used to tell us things about ourselves and the world we live in, though metaphor and hyperbole. And I love the discovery of new worlds and new technologies.

Quote:

Plus, I started reading The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.
Hahaha! I love it! It's hilarious and great scifi at the same time! Perfect combo

Quote:

Fav movies include; I, Robot, Inception, K-Pax, Serenity, I am Legend etc.
Love K-Pax. It's such a beautiful story and it's about people, nothing else.
and I just watched Serenity because I wasn't a fan of Firefly but I liked the movie, it's very good.
I could recommend tons of movies and books if you want me to.

Quote:

R2-D2 and C-3PO from Star Wars.
:D love them! Wall-E has a slight edge now because he's just too cute  but you can't beat them as a duo!

Quote:

I love music, and I do play the classical guitar, and a little bit of drums and bass. I would love to play the piano, though. But I'm so out of practice, cause I'm not in music school anymore and my studies are taking up almost all of my time.
Yeah "real" schooling often takes precedence, as it should, I guess. I play the guitar too. I'm a bit rusty these days because I don't play enough.
Drums? Awesome! Do you own drums or do you borrow them from someone?

Quote:

Only three??!! That is impossible.
:lmao: tough question, I know.

Quote:

I do. The historical element is a key for me in everything. (movies, books)
Oh you love history? I get the time traveling now

I'll post more questions later tonight. I need to think about it :D

Kiki17 09-04-2012 05:30 PM

These were posted by others, so just bringing them over ;)

Is there anything you miss about being a kid?
Any assumption people usually make about you that bugs you?
Ever been in a fight?
What puts you in a bad mood?
Have you ever broken the law?
Who is the most important person in your life?
Love at first sight: Fact or fiction?
Do you have any bad habits?
What's your earliest childhood memory?
Have you ever been tempted to cheat?
What is the weirdest thing about you?
Any guilty pleasure you'd like to confess?
One New Year's resolution you make every year but never follow through?
Do you have any phobias?
What is the weirdest thing about you?

The Victorian era in England.

Please do!

Quote:

Wall-E has a slight edge now because he's just too cute
OMG! Yes! Adorable! :thud:

Quote:

I play the guitar too.
Really? That's so amazing! :high_five:

Quote:

Drums? Awesome! Do you own drums or do you borrow them from someone?
We had a drum set, but we moved so we give it away, long story, anyway the school I'm attending has a drum set so I can practice there, but I'm a beginner and the guitar is my first love. :)

Quote:

Let just say I love some parts of it.

Is there anything you miss about being a kid?

I miss the calmness of it. Now I have to worry about everything. :)

Any assumption people usually make about you that bugs you?

Maybe, but I don't know about those assumptions, so it doesn't bother me. :P

Ever been in a fight?

Yes, but never in a big one, though.

What puts you in a bad mood?

A bad grade... I'm such a geek...

Have you ever broken the law?

No, and I'm not planning to. :)

Who is the most important person in your life?

My mom.

Love at first sight: Fact or fiction?

Fiction. But one part of me wants to believe it exist.

Do you have any bad habits?

I'm not the right person to answer that.

What's your earliest childhood memory?

Me and my brother playing in our garden. I was 4 years old, I think.

Have you ever been tempted to cheat?

I don't know I haven't been in a situation like that. :D But in theory, I would never ever do it.

What is the weirdest thing about you?

Gosh, I don't know, really... :lmao:

Quote:

Any guilty pleasure you'd like to confess?
Not really a guilty pleasure, but I watch America's Got Talent religiously every year. I love it so much it's embarrassing.

One New Year's resolution you make every year but never follow through?

I want to make better use of my time.

Do you have any phobias?

I HATE snakes. :D

Thank you for the questions, Kiki!

Aww damn :( well yeah it's big and noisy so not fit for every location.

Quote:

anyway the school I'm attending has a drum set so I can practice there, but I'm a beginner and the guitar is my first love. :)
Still, that's awesome that you can practice! And I love the guitar too! I don't play enough anymore because it's small here and the old lady next door complained about it so now I play my electric guitar without an amp
How did you start with the guitar? Any particular reason/inspiration?

Quote:

I miss the calmness of it. Now I have to worry about everything. :)
 I know what you mean. I was a worried kid already  but most people seemed to have enjoyed their childhood's innocence.

Quote:

Yes, but never in a big one, though.
Not big as in not physical or as in only person to fight?

Quote:

awww   hey, geeks rule the world ;)

Quote:

Fiction. But one part of me wants to believe it exist.
Nah you'll be better off finding someone who loves you for who you are and what you have inside of you, trust me ;) That's where love is.

Quote:

I'm not the right person to answer that.
 if we asked your Mom, what would she say? :P

I want to make better use of my time.
Well I hope you never follow through because we'd hate to lose you on the board

I HATE snakes. :D
Have you ever seen a real one? Or just a fear of tv snakes?

I guess I'll do give you these recommendations in the appropriate threads. You like scifi more than fantasy, right?

Oh, how I can relate to that!! Funny how it seems impossible to anticipate that feeling when we're young!! I wonder if we would live our lives differently with we knew that much... And, if we could make that choice, would we make it? To know I mean?

i don't know if that wouldn't increase the pressure and end the loving calmness... :sigh:

Quote:

Do you have any bad habits?
I'm not the right person to answer that.
Because you have a lot of them, or because you have none? ;)

A couple of questions from me... ;)

Do you consider yourself a romantic or are you too pragmatic for that?
How are you with confrontations: avoid, or take them?
Do you consider yourself to be an adventurous or a more cautious person?

Gelfling 09-16-2012 08:06 PM

Quote:

And, if we could make that choice, would we make it? To know I mean?
Hm... Nah. Kids want to stay care-free forever. The problem is that reality checks are more painful the older you get before they happen. And if we did know different at that time, we'd probably be paralyzed by fear and stress.
there's a reason we don't know we're going to fall the first time we try to walk. If we knew, nobody would ever try and we'd all still be crawling on all fours

Great questions, babe! :)

I don't think i would react that way. Hopefully I would be able to use that valuable information in my benefit.... If you acted on it, that wouldn't be any reason to have fear or stress.

Quote:

The thing is, the older we get, the less risks we are willing to take, so we never fall, and we don't learn how to walk either

Lily_Marie 09-24-2012 10:42 AM

Are you a collector of anything?
Do books count? I now have about 350.
I do have a small collection of sea shells s well.

Have you ever met online friends?
Face to face? No.

If you want to be happy, you must first...
Learn to appreciate the smaller things in life.

Favorite Disney movie?
The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mulan and Beauty and the Beast. Oh, and The Lady and the Tramp!

Have you ever had a crush on a teacher? ;)
No. All my teachers were either nuns or women above 50.

Do you consider yourself a romantic or are you too pragmatic for that?
I'm pragmatic romantic? I'm not a sap by any means. I'm not the girl who falls for all the mushy stuff. But a little appeciation is nice? I don't know  I'll get back to you'll on this when I'm in love.

Here's what I do know. It's easier to be a romantic with fictional characters than it is with reality. So much of 'romance' on tv would just grate in real life.

How are you with confrontations: avoid, or take them?
Depends on the situation. If I think it's a pointless situation, I'm not going to waste my time on it. I'm it's something I'm passionate about, if I'm being accused of something, or if I'm fighting for someone else, I go in guns blazing.

Do you consider yourself to be an adventurous or a more cautious person?
I'm cautious with my heart but adventurous with my life. At the end of the day, I'll only have me to depend on. I have to make sure to survive.

Quote:

Kids want to stay care-free forever.
Seriously?! I was different then. I loved responsibility. I wanted to be given more things to do, to take charge more. The word care-free was not in my dictionary :P My idea of fun was happily planning the next school event.

Favourite Quote?
Favourite poetry verse?

Broadway or opera?
Are you ticklish? If yes, where?

"Do books count?" Is that a real question? :P  of course they count!
Do you buy paperbacks or hardbacks?

Quote:

I do have a small collection of sea shells s well.
Where have you collected them? I used to have a collection of small pebbles I collected when I traveled some place. I lost it in the move to Paris :bawl: but I started it again. I think my sister might get rid of that one too when it gets too big
I only have a few sea shells from places that mean a lot to me. Like the beach where we used to go with my grandfather as kids, where he found a fossilized sea mammal (that's now in a museum) and where we spread his ashes.

Quote:

Have you ever met online friends?
Face to face? No.
We need to change that! ;)

Quote:

 true. We focus on the happiness with a capital H. And we forget to enjoy the little things that make life good.

Quote:

Favorite Disney movie?

Classics! :D

Quote:

Have you ever had a crush on a teacher?
No. All my teachers were either nuns or women above 50.
:rotfl: so? :P
I had one teacher who was an ex-nun over 60. Ok, I never had a crush on her but she started as my nemesis and ended up being a kind of mentor to me. Like in those Hollywood movies

Quote:

I'm pragmatic romantic? I'm not a sap by any means. I'm not the girl who falls for all the mushy stuff. But a little appeciation is nice?
 a little appreciation is always nice from anyone ;)
What's "the mushy stuff" btw? (bear in mind that I'm not Lily so this question is not a trap of any kind)

Quote:

Here's what I do know. It's easier to be a romantic with fictional characters than it is with reality. So much of 'romance' on tv would just grate in real life.
You know, I think when you're with someone you love and that person loves you back, the smallest most insignificant thing can be romantic. Sometimes even when that person is not trying to do anything romantic. It's just the little things again. Big bold gestures are fine for movies but in real life, romance is not about jumbotrons proposals or blasting cheesy music on the front lawn. Its about caring and showing that you care. Without trying, it's even better because it feels more genuine.

Do you consider yourself a romantic or are you too pragmatic for that?
I'm the wrong person to answer that  but maybe I answered already in my previous lines, I don't know. I think Hollywood and the Harlequin type books give "romance" a bad rap. I can get pink, very pink even  but at the end of the day, what matters is what you feel and how you show it.

Quote:

I'm it's something I'm passionate about, if I'm being accused of something, or if I'm fighting for someone else, I go in guns blazing.
Heh there's a little Kalinda in you, I knew it ;)

How are you with confrontations: avoid, or take them?
I don't like them. I am way too emotional to handle them well and I prefer discussing things rationally when possible. But if push comes to shove, I'll handle the conflict reluctantly but I won't back down. Especially when someone else is concerned. I can take a lot when I'm the only one at stake but when somebody else gets involved, or attacked... :nono:

Quote:

I'm cautious with my heart but adventurous with my life. At the end of the day, I'll only have me to depend on. I have to make sure to survive.
No you don't  you just need to let someone in. Easier said than done but it'll happen on its own. One day you'll just look around and there he/she will be.

Do you consider yourself to be an adventurous or a more cautious person?
 hmmmmm.... :look: I'm usually cautious. But it depends on the company. And I think I'm the opposite of Marie. I'm not so cautious with my heart but I'm more cautious than I probably should be with my life.

Quote:

Seriously?! I was different then. I loved responsibility. I wanted to be given more things to do, to take charge more. The word care-free was not in my dictionary :P My idea of fun was happily planning the next school event.
 of course you were different! What's wrong with that? ;)

Favourite Quote?
Of the day? I have so many I love!
How about "To love is to act"? (that was Victor Hugo's last known autograph)
I also like "For every lie I unlearn, I learn something new" from Ani Difranco.
And now I should stop before I give you another 20

Favourite poetry verse?
oh damn, that's a hard one!!!
I have to think about that one.

The colour you'd paint your bedroom?
Purple :)

Top bunk or bottom bunk?
:rotfl: What would Lily do with that question... :P
I'm not sure. Depends on how high the ceiling is. I'm not kidding. I'm a bit claustrophobic. I'd choose the option that gives me more space. Probably the top bunk. If I can stay up there and not fall down again breaking my back, that would be great  so maybe I'd sleep on the floor in fact
Broadway or opera?
You, with the hard questions!! :P
Broadway has more musical diversity and a lot of masterpieces, and the acting is way better  but then the Opera has had so many moments of brilliance and more centuries to perfect its art... so the answer is "I don't play favorites :P"

Are you ticklish? If yes, where?
Oh I can't wait to read Joana's reply to that one! :D
I'm not that ticklish. It's weird because I'm very sensitive (don't try to braid my hair ) but I'm not really ticklish.

Miss Femina 09-30-2012 05:54 AM

Ok, group session then... ;)

A genie give you three wishes. What do you ask for?
Unlimited travels flights, healthier body and mind and the job of my dreams (that I have no idea what it is, so he would have to find that too :D)

Are you a collector of anything?
Travels, magnets, shot glasses and puzzles (not counting books, music and movies).

Have you ever met online friends?
Yes I have. From this forum too!

If you want to be happy, you must first...
Make sure my loved ones are happy as well.

Favorite Disney movie?
I don't remember any... :embarrassment:

Have you ever had a crush on a teacher?
Oh yes! Several!!!

Quote:

I'll get back to you'll on this when I'm in love.
I wonder if you ARE going to find the answer to that by then.....

Favourite Quote?

Life is what you make of it!

Favourite poetry verse?
I have the worse memory, so I can't really remember a specific one, but surely one from a revolutionary poem (not really the romantic type).

The colour you'd paint your bedroom?
I'm happy with its color right now: dark and light purple.

Top bunk or bottom bunk?
Top! I need the air from above. I'm a little claustrophobic.

Broadway or opera?
Broadway. I prefer its music, décors, lyrics, performers...

Are you ticklish? If yes, where?

Quote:

Oh I can't wait to read Joana's reply to that one!
:P :P :P :P :P

Now, answering the question.... I'm very and always ticklish! Where? Mostly where there's skin! :D I'll give a couple of obvious places: inside my elbows and knees and around... no, I won't say no more! :)
