The critically acclaimed drama series "Nashville" returns for a third season. In the season two finale, Rayna was left at a crossroads with marriage proposals from both Luke, her superstar boyfriend, and Deacon, her first love and the father of her oldest child. Whom will she choose? And how will she navigate the turbulent road helming her own label, Highway 65? Juliette had lost the security of her newfound love with rising artist Avery, which foundered when she cheated on him with Jeff Fordham, the record label executive who has made no secret of his contempt for her. This season she will not only grapple with that heartbreak, but also with a pregnancy.

Will's sham of a marriage is cracking under the weight of his admission to his wife Layla that he's gay, and to the cameras of the reality show shadowing their every move. Will his burgeoning career be his salvation or an albatross? Scarlett, Gunnar and Avery continue to struggle to find their muses and voices within in the music industry, and the dynamics of their careers, friendships and search for love seems to shift continually.

Rayna's daughters, Daphne and Maddie, cope with their mother's engagement as well as her ever-increasing fame, while her ex-husband, Teddy, forms a shaky new alliance with Rayna's nemesis, Jeff Fordham.

"Music City" can mean so many things to different people. In Nashville, musicians and songwriters are at the heart of the storm driven by their own ambitions. Some are fueled by their creativity and passion for fame. Others struggle to cope with the pressures of success and doing everything in their power to stay on top.

"Nashville" stars Connie Britton as Rayna Jaymes, Hayden Panettiere as Juliette Barnes, Clare Bowen as Scarlett O'Connor, Chris Carmack as Will Lexington, Will Chase as Luke Wheeler, Eric Close as Teddy Conrad, Charles Esten as Deacon, Oliver Hudson as Jeff Fordham, Jonathan Jackson as Avery Barkley, Sam Palladio as Gunnar Scott, Lennon Stella as Maddie Conrad and Maisy Stella as Daphne Conrad.

Dee Johnson ("Boss," "The Good Wife"), "The War Room," "A Perfect Candidate"), Callie Khouri ("Thelma & Louise") and Steve Buchanan are executive producers of "Nashville." The series is produced by Lionsgate, ABC Studios and Opry Entertainment.

Yeah, I guess they're trying to be like "Well, technically we said he DECIDES to get a divorce, not that he actually FILES", lol, but it is a deliberate overstatement. Realistically, it does take quite awhile to get a divorce, especially when there's a child involved (even if Juliette has likely shown more interest in her furniture than she has in Cadence), but this is Nashville- they'll claim he could get a divorce in a weekend if he so desired.

Thought it was quite a jump from last nights 'I take my vows seriously' and 'I don't want my daughter to think I gave up on my marriage' to divorce in 2 episodes

I don't know, I think actually spending time with Juliette in the middle of this spiral might go a long way in quickly convincing him his mother is 100% on the mark, lol- he can't be a husband to someone who is just not there. Emotionally and mentally, Juliette is not there.

I agree with that although if he was willing to try after the stuff she said and did in the finale and a month of no contact, Juliette's current behavior can't be too surprising. I don't know what happens in the next couple episodes though.

Avery is a romantic, that's always been true, and I think he may have romanticized things in his head over the past month. Maybe he believes she's really sorry and just is afraid to face him, maybe he believes he'll come home and it'll make a difference. And instead what I see in the promo is ANOTHER whopping case of her not even being in the same STATE as the point of why this all happened. Still trying to justify the unjustifiable. Avery often has big expectations, and they often come crashing down on him very hard.

I'm willing to wait and see how the conversation actually goes before I say she's trying to justify it. She also said none of it meant anything without him.

I think she loves him, at least in her version of love. I believe she misses him to a point (I use qualifiers because as it stands now, Juliette is not loving him in the way that anyone would really WANT to be loved, or in a way that would make anyone feel loved. And I think she's so lost in her head that she can't really SEE him enough to actually MISS him, but she misses what he provides for her). But that doesn't mean she grasps what happened, or why. She should not be uttering the phrase "I put my career first" because again, that is not remotely the point. That is not what happened that was so heinous.

The problem is that Juliette doesn't love herself at all. I would go as far as to say she loves Avery more than she ever loved herself or anyone. She just been lacking that for so long she doesn't know how to be. And it's very hard to love someone when you don't love yourself. As long as she doesn't stop hating herself, her marriage is in serious trouble and so are any future Relationship of any kind she might have outside of that. She doesn't know how to treat people she loves like Glenn, Emily, Avery etc. The root of that problem starts with her self loathing, as long she doesn't denial with that PPD's show version and other stuff will not be fixed.

I am interested in the context of what she is saying - "I put my career first" could be accurate to a point, but does she just think she got too wrapped up in her career and that's the problem, or does she realize that choosing to go out on the road and pursue her career instead of getting help for PPD is what made Avery leave her? Since her behavior continues for several more episodes, I am not sure that she grasps the real issue at hand. If she does, then apparently she just chooses not to address it for some reason going forward.

The sad thing in seeing the small clips of her conversation with Avery is that you can see that it's the same as it always was - she really loves him, as much as she is capable of loving another person, but she can't get herself right to make it work. In seeing the affection and remorse she shows toward Avery in the promo, one can only hope they show her having similar emotions toward her child, since we haven't seen any kind of love toward Cadence since the birth episode.
