The critically acclaimed drama series "Nashville" returns for a third season. In the season two finale, Rayna was left at a crossroads with marriage proposals from both Luke, her superstar boyfriend, and Deacon, her first love and the father of her oldest child. Whom will she choose? And how will she navigate the turbulent road helming her own label, Highway 65? Juliette had lost the security of her newfound love with rising artist Avery, which foundered when she cheated on him with Jeff Fordham, the record label executive who has made no secret of his contempt for her. This season she will not only grapple with that heartbreak, but also with a pregnancy.

Will's sham of a marriage is cracking under the weight of his admission to his wife Layla that he's gay, and to the cameras of the reality show shadowing their every move. Will his burgeoning career be his salvation or an albatross? Scarlett, Gunnar and Avery continue to struggle to find their muses and voices within in the music industry, and the dynamics of their careers, friendships and search for love seems to shift continually.

Rayna's daughters, Daphne and Maddie, cope with their mother's engagement as well as her ever-increasing fame, while her ex-husband, Teddy, forms a shaky new alliance with Rayna's nemesis, Jeff Fordham.

"Music City" can mean so many things to different people. In Nashville, musicians and songwriters are at the heart of the storm driven by their own ambitions. Some are fueled by their creativity and passion for fame. Others struggle to cope with the pressures of success and doing everything in their power to stay on top.

"Nashville" stars Connie Britton as Rayna Jaymes, Hayden Panettiere as Juliette Barnes, Clare Bowen as Scarlett O'Connor, Chris Carmack as Will Lexington, Will Chase as Luke Wheeler, Eric Close as Teddy Conrad, Charles Esten as Deacon, Oliver Hudson as Jeff Fordham, Jonathan Jackson as Avery Barkley, Sam Palladio as Gunnar Scott, Lennon Stella as Maddie Conrad and Maisy Stella as Daphne Conrad.

Dee Johnson ("Boss," "The Good Wife"), "The War Room," "A Perfect Candidate"), Callie Khouri ("Thelma & Louise") and Steve Buchanan are executive producers of "Nashville." The series is produced by Lionsgate, ABC Studios and Opry Entertainment.

I don't know that they're ruined yet, but they're sure making it difficult to believe that reconciliation is even possible at this point.

I'm pretty sure that they will reunite them at some point, but how long will that be??? They managed to keep Deacon/Rayna separated for all of S2 and half of S3. I hung in there but I'm sure lots of others gave up. Hope they get Javery back together sooner.

If they can reconcile Rayna & Deacon after Rayna lied to him for over a decade, they should easily be able to reconcile Javery.

They had Juliette imply that she needed fame more than Avery and their daughter, she threw a glass snowglobe at them and neglected Cadence numerous times. She also fired her team and hired Jeff. And that is only for what already aired. S4 looks like Juliette partying away and ignoring her family while Emily/Avery rumors.

Oh they are endgame, the writers just think trashing them is good drama but even Dee said they won't be apart for long in interviews. It's just badly written drama. They will reunite only to be split apart again in the finale because it's not a finale without J/A in limbo.

I think they're endgame too, but they've got to create something believable to explain Juliette's actions of late and I don't have to faith in these writers to do that. Truly badly written.

NO please no tell me that's not true ! If we are to still believe that Juliette is sick with (badly written) PDD what kind of man would start an affair with her trusted friend/employee so quickly. That would be so out of character for Avery - or do they need to destroy him as a character to try & gain sympathy for Juliette. I can't even see Emily/Avery together as a couple they don't fit at all.

They need to have Avery be unfaithful to Juliette in order to make it even remotely stomachable to the viewers that she tried to physically assault him and their baby, hired the guy she cheated on him with as her promoter and left her family. Though, that alone won't do it. Avery boning Emily is far more forgivable.

It's a standard rule of Nashville. It's always right to trash a male character in order to make a despicable woman look good. It saves the girl from having to own up to her mistakes, and it puts the boy in his "right place", grovelling on his knees begging forgiveness for his crimes.
