Acclaimed country-music drama “Nashville” has returned for a fourth season—with more jaw-dropping, heartbreaking moments than ever before.

Season Three concluded with the ultimate cliffhanger—a flatline—as Deacon went under the knife to receive a liver transplant from his sister, Beverly. And when all is said and done, Rayna must learn to negotiate professional demands in the face of unthinkable personal tragedy. After the birth of her daughter Cadence, Juliette began to suffer from worsening postpartum depression and consequently recommitted to her music and movie careers—a choice that will cause her professional life to sizzle but her family life to fizzle. Her husband Avery, meanwhile, must determine how—and where—to raise their baby girl. Rayna’s teenage girls, Maddie and Daphne, grapple with growing pains of their own, knowing they have different fathers—one of whom (Deacon) may die in surgery and the other of whom (Teddy) is headed to prison.

Elsewhere, cowboy Luke Wheeler has recruited superstar Juliette Barnes to be on his record label—a timely boon, considering his biggest artist, Will Lexington, came out publicly at a press conference to the surprise of the whole industry. Scarlett and Gunnar, who together comprise musical duo The Exes, still remain exes as they embark on tour for their latest E.P., but their chemistry—both onstage and off—might soon be too powerful for them to deny. And Jeff Fordham, Rayna’s nemesis, continues to be romantically enmeshed with Highway-65 artist Layla Grant, the only person who can see the good in him but whom he always manages to hurt—whether he means to or not.

This season will see ”Nashville’s” singers, songwriters and superstars struggle to reconcile their public and private realities. Some will fight to climb to—or stay on—the top. Some will succumb to their own ambition. And all will learn how to survive in the wake of loss—proving that music may be at the heart of Music City, but drama always reigns.

Still reeling over the crap I just read. Not watching the Layla Grant or the Deyna show. Not here for that. Sadly it looks like tomorrow night will be my last show until Juliette returns. I hope Hayden is able to return soon as the show appears to be a mess without Juliette based on the spoilers.

I hear ya I am a Deyna fan so you could imagine my horror watching Ruke for all those episodes ugh but I enoy other characters so it wasn't too bad, and I do love Juliette so kinda stinks she's not going to be in the next few eps but they had to work around Hayden getting better so I don't love it but I understand where your coming from Ruke went all the way to a wedding lol ugh..

So 411 is before the winter break? I knew they would marry and I'm pretty sure no matter how it came about its going to be written great but is it before break I would think they would save that for after break hmmm

WTF? I go away for one day and all hell breaks loose. What is this Layla **** I'm reading? No. Just no. Hellllll no. Damn. It's too bad because I would have LOVED to see Rayna and Deacon get married but looks like I won't be around for that one.

Poor Avery. Poor Cadence.

Still the question remains...what would they do with Juliette if/when HP returns? Like she'd be watching Avery and Cadence and Glenn with Layla? Nashville is going to turn into a CSI episode.

I could have lived with Avery/Scarlett. Hell, I could have lived with Avery/Sadie or even Avery/Zoey. I would have hated it, but I would have been able to stomach Avery with almost every single other available adult female on this show past or present besides Layla ****ing Grant. This is a dealbreaker for me. I'll watch this week, but guaranteed I'm not watching anymore episodes until the show either comes to its senses (which I doubt more and more every day). And I'm not tuning back in to watch Juliette return to see and everybody worshipping Layla Grant's sorry ass.

411 is after the winter break.

I know D/R fans hated the Ruke stuff but no offense but to me that was a blip. Everyone knew D/R would end up together, many predicted the runaway bride stuff way ahead of time. But J/A has had cheating, no vows, no honeymoon, very little interaction while married, the PPD from hell which made many J/A fans jump ship and turn many fans into Juliette haters and now they are throw the one character most of their individual fanbase dislike the most at Avery to make her relevant and give her everything Rayna's support to Juliette ''dad'' to now most likely her husband and child. Their stall didn't kill either of their likability and they are getting the whole huge thing wedding. The risk with Layla is that the writers are in love with her, they give her song more than any other character, they make other characters unlikable to push her. So either they are going to make Avery look awful for using her when she is grieving true love Jeff or she will get him as endgame if they continue their usual Layla route.

It's pretty obvious that the writers will attempt to make Layla "likeable" in some way becausee that would be better promotion for Aubrey, and Layla is only a vehicle for Aubrey. They'll sacrifice anything to achieve that. I agree, if Layla ends up "losing", she'll be portrayed as the victim.

And let me guess, Will and Gunnar will be all for this, huh? Yeah. And Avery's mother will be the mother that Layla never had and his Dad will love her! I could almost throw up right now.

Somebody please put this show out of its misery.

Imagine it, really. It's almost funny at this point. Avery falls in love with the girl who destroyed Juliette's career and who was in love with the guy that destroyed his and Juliiette's relationship.

They really couldn't play it worse if they tried.
