Yes, they are an amazing pairing that is one of a kind. I wish they were still on the screen live, but we did receive four seasons worth of beautiful Ephram/Amy that will always be remembered and cherished. They were amazing just like you said!

I love this exchange when they're wondering how they both didn't concentrate on anything for a week due to their fight:

Ephram: What's that all about?
Amy: I don't know.

You could tell how into Ephram/Amy Greg and Emily were. That was the other priceless part of why we received such magical chemistry and realness with our couple. The actors sold it, 100%. They wanted to be in every Ephram/Amy scene, they believed their story just as much as we did.

I think everyone would love to see Emily and Greg work together again. Would you like to see them guest star on the other's show or wait a little while before they re-unite on screen again?

I think it'd be fun if Greg was on Revenge.

I also think Tom Amandes would be a perfect target for her on an episode.

I don't know if this has been discussed before, but I wanted to ask whether any of you know couples from real life that are similar to E/A? Or have you personally experienced something as precious as they had?

What I liked in the Series Finale were the little subtleties that showed us how much Ephram and Amy loved each other, like when Ephram, seeing that Amy was drunk, took away her wine and gave her a glass of water to drink, and in his conversation with Bright, where he asked if they should call to check and see if Amy got home okay, which Bright immediately picked up on. Ephram had the opportunity to sleep with Stephanie, but he couldn’t go through with it because of his feelings for Amy, and that also said a lot. I also loved it when Amy told Hannah that Ephram made her happy, and how he had always been there for her, and how rare that was. There were also little subtle gestures on Amy’s part to show how much she loved Ephram, like when Ephram and Stephanie came out of the movies, and she said “I’m always up for a laugh. You know that about me, right Ephram?” You could see the competitive look that Amy gave Stephanie in that scene, and you could see the stricken look on her face after they left, and to me, that really told me how much Amy loved Ephram.

As much as I loved the “grand gesture” that Amy used to tell Ephram she still loved him and to tell him that she hadn’t forgotten anything about them, it’s the subtle gestures between Ephram and Amy that made me love them so much over the years, and I was glad that we got to some of those subtle gestures last night in the Series Finale, because when you really love someone, it’s not always the “big things” that prove you love someone, it’s the “little things,” and Ephram and Amy always had both.

When Amy was declaring her feelings for Ephram, and he kept saying her name, I was actually a little afraid that he would tell her “stop,” because I wasn’t sure what that was supposed to mean, but once he kissed her, I was overjoyed, and I knew that my fears were groundless. I loved seeing the passion in Ephram’s tear filled eyes when he told Amy that he loved her, and that she was it, and that she was his one, and their final kiss and embrace was the perfect ending for this wonderful show.

Amy’s jealousy was so entertaining to watch, and when she starts talking obsessively, she always reminds me about how alike her and Harold are, and I especially loved watching a drunk and jealous Amy, and that dance between her and Ephram was nothing short of magical, where she put her head on his shoulder, and they held each other like they never wanted to let each other go, although I wish it could have lasted a little longer.

The flashback scenes really brought so much back to me, especially when Amy saw Ephram attack that jerk who had cruelly called her pretending he was Colin, and she saw, right from the very beginning, what we all saw, that Ephram loved her with all his heart, and that he’d do anything for her.

I’ve never loved a couple like I’ve loved Ephram and Amy, and they never disappointed me, although I was frustrated that they didn’t get together and stay together sooner. I once loved Dawson and Joey on Dawson’s Creek, but over the years, the writers destroyed everything I loved about them, so if they had gotten together in the last seconds of the Series Finale of Dawson’s Creek, it would have meant nothing to me by that point, but Ephram and Amy getting together in the last seconds of the Series Finale of Everwood filled my heart with joy.

Yes, Jerry, I felt the same way when I watched this scene. It was as if Ephram was trying to shut Amy up because he felt that it was too late for them. But...when he kissed her and said, "Is it my turn now?" and proceeded with those beautiful words declaring that he remembers everything about Amy.....and that she has always been it...I was also overjoyed!


Yes, for the first time Amy put all of those scenes together in her mind...scenes in which Ehram was there for her.....he was always there for her. For the first time, Amy saw very clearly what Ephram was and meant to her. That's when she made up her mind that she would fight to get him back...no matter what.

Dolfan, I would love to see Greg and Emily work together again, like, yesterday! LOL. Either on one of their shows or even a movie together. A movie together would be something else too, like a romantic comedy set in a small town in the mountains... oh wait! LOL

No, seriously, I would love to see them work together again on either the small or large screen. It has to happen!

Jerry, excellent post as always. It was all about the subtle moments with Ephram/Amy that made them beyond convincing. Too often, shows either do not have the quality writing or actors in order to allow the small, natural portrayal of a great love story. Grand gestures, big words, flashy moments, have to be in play to make it believable. Not with Everwood and Ephram/Amy. Not even for a second.

Amont, to answer your question... my aunt and uncle grew up near each other in a small town in western Pennsylvania. Both families were super close, and the adults were Godparents for the children even. My aunt and uncle started dating when they were 10 years old and NEVER broke up. I am not kidding. They never dated anyone else and literally have been together since age 10! They are both in their 70s now, share three children together and are the true definition of a fairytale love story.

I also have another aunt and uncle who have been together since age 20 and grew up in western PA as well. There must be something in the water in western PA.

My mom didn't go that route since she moved to Cleveland with her family when she was in high school then met my dad shortly after that.
Exactly. The other thing I loved about this moment and so many others throughout the season is how it showed Amy ALL IN regarding their relationship. Amy was obviously going through a lot in the first two seasons but the second she got together with Ephram she was as loyal, loving and dedicated as ever. They both were so loyal and dedicated and their love flowed effortlessly which was such a joy to see.

Dolfan, I don't think I've ever heard from you regarding when you started liking Ephram/Amy? Was there a moment, a scene when you started liking this couple? What are your general thoughts on Ephram/Amy?

Movie with Emily and Greg is an awesome idea. Tom Amandes and Treat Williams as additions would be even more awesome.

I think that if Greg played in Revenge, we would ship Emily/Amanda with his character. So Greg playing Nolan will result in our desire to see them as something more than accomplices .

I think that this is the problem for them to be together casted in series/movies - they have to be paired up together. Otherwise we won't be that happy and we won't like their alternatives pairings.

What about Everwood movie? Like 7/8 years later? We could dream .

I already often see them as more than accomplices. I love those two together and there is definitely chemistry...even when they are at each others' throats!
I think that we all have that dream!! That would be wonderful!!
