I really liked that scene at the beginning of S4 where Joey told Pacey that Dawson was there for her after her mom died and he just sat with her because he understood that she didn't want to talk and that he was like family to her when she's had none

during the college years I actually did like Joey with Eddie

I never really saw Pacey fitting the bad boy archetype either

it just makes zero sense how these two ended up together in the series finale like I can't think of even one good legitimate reason?

I watched through 4.06 again. how many fights with no resolution. all I see and view is joey reassuring pacey she's over dawson. is that how she made him better? I'm not seeing how she makes him better.

yeah. that is weird. I rewatched 6.18. Being with you doesn't feel right, I don't feel it and she chooses eddie.

I notice so many differences with pj. Wjy is it a problem to treat joey with respect? He doesn't seem to have a problem with the blondes. Pacey lost a lot of good qualities.

I'm Paradise, 34/F/Virginia. I'm a longtime D/Jer who is also a fan of Pacey's character, but not of the Pacey/Joey ship.

So bless this thread for existing! Sometimes you just need to bitch and moan about a couple you DON'T ship and it's nice to have a designated place to do so.

In my mind, I still can't believe the P/Jers even had a fandom. I thought the P/Jer pairing was kinda degrading to Pacey. You know you're aiming high in a relationship when another man, (i.e. your best friend) is the soulmate of the girl you fancy. DUDE, this is so not gonna end well for you.

I liked Pacey and Joey's friendship and found it awkward when they tried to be more. What's also weird is that whenever they were just being friends, you'd never believed they'd been anything more. That's how at ease they were with being friends.

In 6x01 The Kids Are Alright, Pacey respectfully leaves the bar when he knows Joey's waiting for Dawson. No drama, no resentment. This was how it SHOULD'VE been. Grrrr! lol.

Anyway...does anyone have any fan arts or quotes of Pacey exploding at Joey in Promicide? Or any other anti-PJ arts?

THIS I actually felt miserable watching Josh act out those scenes. Nearly every line he has is about Joey's love for Dawson. "Do you think you could ever love me like that? Like a soul mate?" That's embarrassing. We're talking about his two best friends, and Pacey has been reduced to wanting what D/Jo has, just one season after he had been in a loving relationship with Andie. I don't get why the writers wanted to torture Pacey that way. He went from one angsty relationship to another.


Seriously - how can Joey and Pacey ever be truly happy together if the whole nature of D/Jo is based on them being soulmates? In theory, this means that Dawson will be her number one priority in life. They will always be in each other's hearts. They still have the romantic history together that pre-dates Pacey's love for her. It's all very messed up.


Also, Promicide should have been the end of P/Jo. I can't believe the writers felt it was necessary to reunite them ever again after Pacey's insecure outbursts to her in that episode. I'm not even blaming Pacey, but he was telling her the truth - "YOU MAKE ME FEEL LIKE I'M NOTHING AND I'M NEVER RIGHT." And not just that, but he outright lied to her when he said "I saw you and Dawson together and I just don't care." Pacey's problem with Joey is that he cared, too damn much.



I 100% agree. Seasons 5 and 6 were finally getting back to old nostalgic times with Joey/Dawson being at the forefront and Pacey taking a backseat. I mean I love the guy but let's face it, this show was designated to centralize D/Jo. I remember when Pacey found out that Joey still loved Dawson romantically (in the Mitch's funeral episode) and he didn't seem angry, he just expressed a desire to see D/Jo finally reunite, especially at a time when they all needed some happiness in their lives. This was Pacey at his best - being outside of the drama, looking in, wishing his friends happiness. Whenever he and Joey were romantically set up, there was always baggage that weighed his personality down. I hated it.

update: it's the episode 4x07 had me at goodbye when Joey asks Dawson to write her a letter of recommendation for her scholarship and Andie leaves to go to Italy
