I think he's unfairly hated by the majority of the fandom

and if you compare him in season 1 to season 6 there's so much good character growth that I think some fans ignore?

I think the loss of Mitch also contributed to his character growth

My least favourite episode is the antiprom. That is when he told Andie it would be an honour to take her to the prom, and then first chance he got, Pacey dumped her to dance with Joey.

Actually Pacey treated Andie like crap all of season three.

I actually don’t mind that episode and actually like the “I remember everything.” scene

but the sneaking around in The Longest Day that they do behind one of both of their best friends infuriates me to no end

reminds me of Leyton from One Tree Hill, another one of my notps, when they sneak around behind Brooke

I'm a PJoer and even I didn't like that they snuck around behind Dawson's back. I didn't think that was fair at all considering they both knew how he felt about Joey.

I hate that scene. Another scene of Pacey dishonouring Andie. Remember he told Andie it would be an honour to take her to the prom.

Since this is a anti Pacey/Joey thread I do not see that scene as a romantic gesture, but a betrayal.

Yes I know that supposedly Andie cheated on Pacey. To my way of thinking a person is in a so called mental facility, is because said person is incapable of making good and logical decisions.

The Pacey of season two would have been hurt and angry, but would not have come up with the utterly stupid line of "You didn't love me enough" With that said, Pacey over time would have understood what happened and why.

Actually the reason Andie Cheated on Pacey was because the writers wanted to put Pacey and Joey together and were to lazy to write a more plausible way for Pacey and Andie to break up.

There is no way in hell, Andie, as written season two would ever cheat on Pacey.

However, it does illustrate a fundamental issue in their relationship, that of Pacey feeling inadequate and like he can’t measure up to Joey, which shows that he idealizes her and doesn’t 100% see her as a person but rather a perfect fantasy.

And yes, this contrasts strongly with the way in which he and Andie always saw each other’s flaws and pushed one another to be better versions of themselves and how Andie brought out the best in Pacey.

None of this is Joey’s fault but you can’t be in a healthy relationship with someone who (inadvertently or not) brings out the worst in you, and that’s unfortunately what happened to Pacey in his relationship with Joey.
