Just finished the book, couldn't believe the ending I refuse to believe he didn't care about her, he just didn't want to get hurt again. What an epic love story, truly one for all time. The love he had for her was amazing

I have the tapes and watched this with my mother countless times...needless to say I think Vivien Leigh is the most gorgeous actress. I love her in other movies too. She reminded me of this delicate little doll..yet so fragile as she was with illness.

But anyway she had such a proper British accent and she did such a wonderful southern one! I had no clue she was from England. "Oh Rhett, how could you!" now say that with her southern drawl. I love it!

my favorite book and movie of all time. I read it for the first time when I was seventeen and it had such a profound effect on me. I've read the book and seen the movie I don't know how many times over the years and I have massed quite a memorabilia collection. Vivien Leigh was a stunning, talented woman and her real life was so tragic.

I could read the book and watch the movie over and over. Hence the screen name

thanks lol. last year I got the Limited Edition 70th Annivesary set myself and I always require someone get me the latest Hallmark ornement to add to my collection.

There is no couple that tops Scarlett and Rhett. They are the couple of couples and everyone else tries to live up to them. The character of Mr. Big on Sex and the City always reminded me of a knock off of the one and only Rhett Butler.

I can't even count how many times I've read the novel over the years. I think probably once a year since I was 17 so that would make at least 17 times since I'm 34 now lol and I've seen the movie, Lord, since VHS lol. It was given to me as a gift for my 18th bday from my grandmother. Of course I had to see the movie after I read the novel and I was shocked that they elimnated Scarlett's first two children, Wade by Charlie Hamilton and Ella by Frank Kennedy, How do ommit the main character's kids? But the novel was so huge, it would take 24 hours to bring the whole thing to life in a movie. I had the chance to see some of Vivien's costumes on display in Georgia back in the mid 90's and it was amazing!

i love the continuation i mean how scarlette and rhett ends up together but the ppl who playing them not having the same charm and chemistry as viv and clark =/ (and yet viv-clark even not get along in real life lol, the irony XD)
