Absolutely. He certainly loved her as Clark. She was an outlet for him as the Blur, as if it was the only time he was himself without judgment, or expectation. She was someone that actively rooted for him, was on his side like no one else before out side his parents. So as the Blur, he was infinitely drawn to her. No offense to Lana, Chloe, Oliver or Pete. Lois was just an unexpected oasis for him and who could blame him for wanting more of her. His mistake was trying to keep his Blur self and Clark self separate. He couldn't have all of Lois when he was giving her only a part of himself, either as the Blur or Clark.

He made himself have to compete for her. The irony! I think this was an important part of the journey though.... it's something both of them had to experience. He had to feel like she would accept that part of him and I dont know if he would have been able to tell her his secret without having that experience.

Tom was saying during the GalaxyCon QnA that he didn’t think he needed to come back 5 days early for season 4 to read with Erica, because he already thought she was “perfect” as Lois.

That was nice of him to say.

Aww, man!!!! They were so perfect together. Can you imagine if there were no mandated WB restrictions on them, we could have have them sooner than we did.

Looking at these gif sets, I'm tempted to do a S8-S10 rewatch. (my favourite past time at this stage).
