Yeah, that's how Christopher operates. He thinks money solves everything. Everything is superficial with him. The things that actually matter, like being there, he never follows through on. And the few times he is there, he has to be talked into it or he has an agenda behind it. The agenda being trying to win points with Lorelai or trying to get into her pants.

Really bad article that I could not disagree with more. It tries to make Chris to be some sort of victim that Lorelai played and completely ignores the fact that Chris consistently took advantage of Lorelai, when she was vulnerable:

He makes me squirm with so much of what he says. There's his main lines of "hey Lor!" and "hey kiddo!" (ewwww) and then he has some plain god awful, full blown cringe lines. Like, "nice shirt, take it off" or anytime he asks Lorelai to marry him. Then there's "let's make a baby" followed by "let's go for it!" and the "that's what I'm talking about" after he and Lorelai have sex. Acrual barf inducing line there. I could go on. How tf do people (all be it, very few, thankfully) find this man appealing in any way? He's so gross.

It's so.... ick. If it's supposed to be sweet and endearing, because he's the only one who calls her that, then it doesn't come across as that at all.
