Medvedev is actually doing well on clay so far this tournament.

I love Berrettini.
Medvedev and Azarenka are looking very good. I'm watching Tsitsipas Vs Isner now. It's very tight. __________________

Not thrilled that Gasquet lost again. Guess I can find someone else to cheer for in this tournament.

I enjoyed watching the Federer/Koepfer match. Koepfer tried really hard throughout the match.

Federer withdrew. It annoys me because he blatantly used RG as "warm up" and then pulled out without giving a reason to "rest" for wimbledon when actually he could have used more matches to warm up for the tournament.

I was annoyed about Federer too.
I have been enjoying the tournament very much. Krejcikova reminds me a lot of Jana Novotna. I don't know who I want to win the women's final, I like both players. I want Tsitsipas to win the men's title. I have been very impressed with his tennis. __________________

I've never been a Federer fan, but his behaviour in this case really exemplifies why: He's somebody who is exempt from criticism by the media and treated as bigger than the sport itself. I cannot bear that level of idol worship. I'm Team Novak Djokovic today, no matter what the result is vs Rafa. As long as Novak tries his best, that's all I ask for. I want the fiery passion in his performance that he showed vs Matteo 2 days ago. It's the only way you can enforce power over Rafa on clay. He knows that because he has beaten him at RG before. __________________

Just had to come back here after that semi-final! Djokovic put in the effort of his career to beat Nadal after being 5-0 down in the first set.
On clay, at Roland Garros - where he's only been beaten 3 times in total... Two of those by Novak. Incredible! __________________

Wow, what a performance by Novak.
I think I want Pavlyuchenkova to win the women's title but I like Krejcikova too. I hope it's a great match. I'd like Tsitsipas to win the men's title but I don't think he will. __________________

Yesterday's men's semifinals were both exciting matches. That third set in the Nole-Rafa match had some of the best clay court tennis I have ever seen. Both guys really went toe to toe in it. Nole really did a great job of elevating his level of play in the latter part of the match. This was definitely one of his best performances I have seen.

Novak really did.
I am not a fan of his at all but he played incredible in that match. He was definitely the better player as the match went on. Good for him. I am absolutely gutted that Nadal lost. Quote:

I know Nikki loves Rafa, but wow what an amazing performance, last year's loss to Rafa really stung so I was proud that Nole fought, and learnt, really stepping up! I hope he wins easily tomorrow I think if he doesn't, he has a great chance for Wimbledon.

Here is the latest update from the French Open.
First of all in the men's singles final, Nole defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-7(8), 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4. What a great win for Nole. Stefanos Tsitsipas got off to a good start, winning the first two sets. However Nole slowly and steadily made his way back in the match with his trademark relentless play that wore down Tsitsipas. With today's victory, Nole not only finally captured that elusive second French Open title, but also becomes the first male player in the Open Era to win all of the Grand Slams at least twice and captured his 19th Grand Slam title, which puts him one behind Fed and Rafa. Obviously this was a tough loss for Stefanos. He got off to a great start, but was slowly worn down both physically and mentally after losing the third set. Still he should hold his head up high on making it to his Grand Slam, becoming the first Greek player to do so. I really feel that it is only a matter of time before he captures his first Slam. It was a great weekend for Barbora Krejcikova. Yesterday, she defeated Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 to win the women's singles title. Then earlier today, she and Katerina Siniakova defeated Bethanie Mattek-Sands and last year's women's singles champion Iga Swiatek 6-4, 6-2 to win the women's doubles title. Barbora Krejcikova was absolutely amazing, not only surprising everyone in winning the women's singles title, but also capturing the doubles title as well. She becomes the first player to do the feat since Mary Pierce in 2000. Meanwhile in men's doubles, hometown favorites, Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut defeated Alexander Bublik and Andrey Golubev 4-6 7-6(1) 6-4 to become the first French team to twice win the doubles title at Roland Garros. Also Joe Salisbury and Desirae Krawczyk won the mixed doubles title. Plus in the Juniors, it was a successful weekend for France as Luca Van Assche won the boys' singles and Arthur Fils and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard won the boys' doubles title. Things were just as good for the Czech Republic as Linda Nosková joined her senior compatriots in the winners' circle by capturing the girls' singles title. Alex Eala and Oksana Selekhmeteva won the girls' doubles title. So that's the story from Roland Garros as Nole and Barbora Krejcikova leads the parade of champions. Next up on the schedule this week will be the start of the grass court season with the Noventi Open in Halle, the cinch Championships at Queen's Club, the Viking Classic in Birmingham, England and the bett1open in Berlin. However the grass court got off to an early start this past week in Nottingham where Johanna Konta defeated Zhang Shuai 6-2, 6-1 to win the singles title, while Lyudmyla Kichenok and Makoto Ninomiya won the doubles title. __________________
