Here is a belated update from the recent events on the tour.
First of all in the Middle East; Nikoloz Basilashvili won the Qatar ExxonMobil Open in Qatar and Garbine Muguruza won the Dubai Duty Free Championships. Also Sara Sorribes Tormo won the Abierto Zapopan, Daniil Medvedev won the Open 13 Provence and Cristian Garin won the Chile Dove Men+Care Open. So that's the latest update from the tour. This week's events, which are in progress; are the men's edition of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, the Abierto Mexicano Telcel in Acapulco, the St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy and the Abierto GNP Seguros. Meanwhile in other news, Rafa withdrew from the Miami Open due to a back injury that had been bothering him since the Australian Open and Kim Clijsters also withdrew from Miami and Charleston after a setback following right knee surgery and a bout with COVID-19. __________________

Thank you, Rod!
It's a shame about Nadal's and Clijsters' withdrawals. __________________

You're welcome, Nikki.
Here is the latest update from the tour. First of all on the men's side, Aslan Karatsev defeated Lloyd Harris 6-3, 6-2 to win the Dubai Championships and Sasha Zverev defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4, 7-6(3) to win the Abierto Mexicano Telcel. Meanwhile on the ladies' side, Daria Kasatkina won the St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy and Leylah Fernandez won the Abierto GNP Seguros. So that's the story from last week's events. Next up on the schedule will be the Miami Open. While I'm on the subject of the Miami Open, it had a couple of a very notable withdrawals as six time champion Nole pulled out of the tournament citing coronavirus restrictions, while eight time champion Serena Williams withdrew due to recent oral surgery. __________________

In the Women's singles final, Ash Barty repeated as champion as Bianca Andreescu was forced to retire due to a foot injury with Barty leading 6-3, 4-0. Also in the doubles finals, Nikola Mektić and Mate Pavić won the men's doubles title and Shuko Aoyama and Ena Shibahara won the women's doubles title. So that's the story from Miami. This week's events, which are underway and mark the start of the clay court season, are the Volvo Car Open in Charleston, South Carolina, the AnyTech365 Andalucia Open, the Sardegna Open and the Copa Colsanitas. __________________
