I wanted Thiem to win and I wasn't disappointed. It was amazing that he came back from behind. :D

Great wins for Dominic Thiem and Naomi Osaka, who both had great comeback wins in the singles finals. On the other hand, it was a tough loss for Vika, who once again came up short in the U.S. Open final. :( She got off to a good start, but wasn't able to keep it going. With their victories this past weekend, Dominic Thiem finally wins his first Grand Slam title and is the second Austrian to win a Grand Slam title, joining Thomas Muster, while Naomi Osaka captured her second U.S. Open title and third Grand Slam title.

Also in the Women's Doubles final, Laura Siegemund and Vera Zvonareva defeated Nicole Melichar and Xu Yifan 6-4, 6-4.

Meanwhile the TEB BNP Paribas Tennis Championship Istanbul was also held and Patricia Maria Tig defeated Eugenie Bouchard 2-6, 6-1, 7-6(4) to capture her first title. Tough loss for Genie. However i hope that this is the start of her long awaited comeback.

Next up on the schedule this week will be the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome. Rafa is scheduled to make his long awaited return to action. Nole, Andy Murray, Bianca Andreescu and Stan are also scheduled to headline the tournament.

Happy for Thiem! I met him back in 2014, back when no one knew him, and always said to my friend he'd win big titles.

Gutted for Vika. She was FLAWLESS in the first set too. Great to have her back though, I really hope she can regain world number 1.

Hopefully Vika will win another Grand Slam title soon. I hope she will compete in the French Open which takes place next week. :)

Its Rome this week. Vika opens against Venus Williams later today which could be tough considering the quick turn around. Novak is back also, he's currently playing Caruso.
