There is a kiss at the introduction of this thread that I forgot all about. It was the one in Getting To Know You, season 4 when they got back together (briefly!!)

It was one of the better kisses.

Hmm, can you clarify what that means? I had no idea you could have more than one. Interesting. Might be an idea for this one. Especially since you and rafaboreanaz linked to some good scan sites, it wouldn't be too hard to find some good E/A moments.

Thanks Betty! And yes, that is a good moment too. They were so good at it, they showed that in the few instances they got to kiss like that, I can definitely understand why you wanted more!

Sure. You're allowed to have 25 image links in one post. For instance, the banner in the opening post would be considered one image link. Another image link in the opening post would be the Ephram and Amy fan art. Right now, I believe you have 5 image links in the opening post, which means that you could add 20 more links. I hope that makes sense. If not, let me know what I can clarify more.

Oh yes, adding some more E/A scenes to the opening post would be fun.

Thanks, keep no score . Twenty is a good amount, that should probably be enough to add some favourite moments. Not that I'm trying to organize this with my lack of artsy qualities, heh, but it was a great idea from ghjnj . Sometimes I forget that not everyone has the episodes, which is silly of me.

And ghjnj, hopefully you'll be able to get the second DVD when it comes out, just in case you haven't yet heard that it's official that it will be out in 2009!

I know, it's like a dream, isn't it? At some point last year, I have to admit that I had pretty much given hope on seeing a DVD release. So, I'm suuuuppper giddy about this news! WHV finally does something right. *faints*

Unfortunately I missed Everwood in its original run on the WB. I watched it when it came on ABC Family for that one run. Because episodes were played every day, it sped everything up obviously so I never got the "true experience" of the show, I guess. I was wondering a couple of things:

1. What was the hardest point for E/A fans? Season 1 when Colin comes back? Most of season 2? When they break up? Something else?

2. Was there ever a time when a lot of people thought maybe they wouldn't wind up together at the end?

Dolfan, I, like you, didn't watch Everwood until it came on ABC Family. That's why ABC Family should run it again and they will surely get new fans. It was alot easier on us because we knew that there would be a happy ending for Amy and Ephram.

Those are wonderful questions!! I'm looking forward to hearing how the people who watched Everwood from the beginning will respond.

I'm not as big of a shipper as some, but here are my thoughts on the excellent questions:

I would definitely say the season 3 breakup. Ephram's treatment towards Amy here is so hard to watch.

From "Fallout":
Amy: Okay fine, hate me right now, but think about what you're going to give up. Is seeing the baby really that important.
Ephram: Right now, it's more important than you. You should get out.


From "Acceptance", Ephram saying it was unlikely that they would end up getting married over the infinity necklace. High school sweethearts from a small town, not what he's used to. Part of him didn't really believe in that, loving someone enough, for a forever. I didn't feel like transcribing that, but I think I pretty much just did, hee. Amy's face there, ohhh, gosh. This stuff was crushing. Ooph. That might be the hardest scene to watch out of them all for me.

And their cold goodbyes in "He Who Hesitates" and Amy's breakdown after. Aw.

I think that four or five sequence of episodes, from Ephram finding out about the baby in "Fate Accompli" to that goodbye scene, that's really the low point for Ephram and Amy. Especially since Ephram kind of has a calm about him in these scenes. Amy is just completely devastated, but Ephram, he looks hurt, but he doesn't...he does seem almost cold at this point to me. He's panicky, definitely, but he's got a coldness about him in his dealing with Amy.

Colin, I don't know, it wasn't so hard to watch. They hadn't really been together then, you know? They had a few sparks, but really, they were building a relationship through being friends. That's also why the Madison and Tommy relationships didn't bother me. You know they were getting together, that Tommy and Madison were just a stop on the road, and two relationships that Ephram and Madison needed and learned from in big ways.

When it came to their break up in season three, I think this is where the weekly episode pace kicks in. I think everything I said above applies just as much to people that watched it daily, I'm sure. Weekly, though, it was almost like an actual relationship. They were together months, for most of season three (I think). That's a long long time in TV time. So we were kind of part of that relationship, and seeing that dissolve so quickly, it really resonated more because of that long stretch of time they were together when we were watching. I hope I'm explaining that properly, my brain is kind of fried right now. But yeah, it was really like being along for the ride, actually the feel of a relationship that went months and months and months. And I can see how you guys might not get that as much watching daily, although I'm sure it was still really devastating.

And for me, since my big shipping relationship is Andy/Ephram (not in any weird ways, heh), watching them dissolve at the same time, it was like a double knock out.

Not for me. Although that season 3 break up does create doubts. When Ephram says he didn't think they would be forever. That's harsh stuff. But just from a story point of view, getting them together at the end was the only decision to make, frankly. I didn't think they would be the final scene, but I knew they wouldn't end the series without them being together.

No? Oh, well, I started watching for Ephram/Andy, Andy/Harold, and most of the older characters more than anything. I didn't start to appreciate Amy and Ephram until a little later in the first season. Not that much later, though, like around Ephram bringing board games in the hospital later. So, 8 episodes? Not too late at all. I certainly didn't watch for them at first. But Everwood is one of those shows, I think anyway, where everything is so good, that no matter what you started watching for, you get to appreciate and connect with everything. I connect big time with the characters, and by the time in that break up in season three, I think I could consider myself a total shipper judging by how absolutely devastated I was by Ephram's words.

I still mainly watched for Andy/Ephram, but Amy/Ephram got more to the forefront for me, really big into them late season two. And then on my countless rewatching of season one, I love that stuff now too. I guess I shouldn't say not as big of a shipper, but maybe say, not from the very beginning. A late blooming shipper, if you will. I'm not sure when it really started, but I think in "Home" when they buy a Twix together, I was completely sold at that point. I liked their story in season one, but I didn't connect with the actual relationship right from the pilot. I'm either completely over explaining this (which I tend to do) or completely under explaining this. Heh. Let me know which one.

How Cute Is She

The only reason Ephram/Madison bothered me was because at the time I was around 15. I was still unnerved by older women/younger men relationships. I was uncomfortable with it. I still don't see the attraction. Sure I see the crush but I don't see the love. I don't get why there is such a big band of people for it. I think Madison is pretty and caring. But her having Ephram's baby shocked me & I loved how it was (somewhat- well to me anyway) unexpected, and the only one who really knew was Andy.

I also like how Amy knew before Ephram. Don't know why but I just do.

Amy&Ephram to me are soulmates.
