Should have found a way to link it to Ellie coming into the show imo. |

Yes, not linking to Ellie was such a missed opportunity. |

Sure was, would have been great to see her and Peyton onscreen before the truth came out. |

I personally didnt hate the drug storyline. i know a lot of people did but it didnt get too deep or annoying, and I liked the emotional pull for Peyton.
They could have done it a lot better though. She could have slowly progressed into doing it, then did it more than one time to really kinda gut punch the audience. But it was so fast and quick and over with so it wasnt really a big deal imo. Sophia had a nice voice for a while but at some point it got way too raspy, I think in season 5? IDK, it was like she was putting it on... Its not like that anymore lol. Quote:
Unlike on dawsons creek for example or one tree hill where it went back and forth between the triangle, it didnt do that on tvd. Once they went with DE it didnt change. If they had gone BACK to stefan/elena again i wouldnt have been able to support DE after that. And on the other hand had they built up B/L for 3 seasons and showed them really falling for one another it would be a completely different story. But their relaitonship was unhealthy, toxic, and awful! Also, S/E where written so blase imo. Dont get me wrong, they were a sweet couple but there was never any fire there? It was too easy for them. They literally kissed in episode 2 and then were practically together right away in the series. For me, I am all about angst and build up. YOu will be able to tell what ships I am into based purely on that. I have to have build up. I CANNOT ship a couple that gets together in the first 2 episodes. Probably why I wasnt that into Naley, they happened too fast for me. I equate Stefan/Elena to Naley. Dont hate tem by any means and they have cute moments (I actually adore stefan) but the build up was non existent. I mean if you look at my pairings, Leyton, Jate, Delena, Steroline, DJo.... all of them have build up and angst/drama. Which is fun to watch. __________________

I guess the way to describe it is Lucas and Peyton had an intellectual meeting of the minds, emotional connection... Nathan and Haley were emotionally connected but not intellectually, not in the way that Lucas and Peyton were. Brooke and Lucas were the anti-intellectual, anti-emotional connection. LOL. Quote:
The first time I saw Jake and Peyton in S1 interacting that is what I thought... okay, they will put Peyton temporarily with Jake because toxic superficial, ridiculous, Brooke and Lucas will do their thing and nauseate anyone with a clue knowing it should be Lucas and Peyton instead... but for a while Peyton will hang with Jake so Brooke and Lucas can be horrific together. Then it happened later once again when the network wanted to do Brooke and Lucas for a second time due to Chad and Sophia together for two seconds. So yes, to me, Peyton and Jake were ALWAYS there to justify Brooke and Lucas. It was obvious. It was lame. |

See Amy Abbott S2 Depression storyline. Emily was magical and the writers started Amy's depression in S1! We saw her endure panic attacks before dancing, hugging Ephram in school and acting like she didn't have a clue what was going on, etc. When Amy developed clinical, situational depression the audience knew she was having issues with her mental health back in S1! The build up was beautiful and we witnessed it every step of the way. It also didn't end overnight in S2 once it became clear what was going on either. It took nearly 2/3rds of S2 for Amy to balance things out and start feeling healthier. Quote:
