I don't have high hopes for the movie. I think they may strip away all the things that really make it Star Trek to appeal to a larger audience.

Honestly, I don't either. Although going in expecting nothing, you can come out pleasantly surprised.

I'll certainly be on the look out for casting news.

How does everybody feel about spoilers? They're allowed in the movie discussion thread. I've never been the type to go out and actively pursue spoilers though.

I'm getting more and more interested in this. I'm not a big fan of TOS (I'm a TNG & VGR Trekkie), but this "young Kirk and Spock" dealie could be fun.

Now, of course, I have to borrow the TOS DVDs from someone...

Okay, we'll put you down as a vote for full disclosure. Until now, it's all been fairly vague general direction of the storyline stuff but I'm sure we'll be getting more specific details in the near future.

Have you seen any TOS episodes?

LOL. No, her name was Katie...insisted on us calling her Saavik...v. strange girl.

I have a thing for Tom Paris.

ETA: We called her Saavik b/c there were 3 Katies in our Tech crew (myself included)...DUH. We had to differentiate ourselves. I just remembered that...
