Guess that just confirms the rumours.

Another Opportunity to Ruin Continuity

A prequel is just one more chance (in a long line of many) for the writers to screw up. Here are some expected highlights from the next Movie.

Young Kirk encounters the Borg.
Kirk meets Crusher and the Traveler.
Kirk's ship is 1000 times better than the one he eventually gets.
Kirk was originally a klingon, that's why he hates them so much, it's not because of his son.
Kirk meets a Q, they have a child together, who later becomes a relative of Picard, that is why they love Picard so much.
Spock used to be quite the prankster until he got all serious.
Bones only got Cs in medical school.
The Federation was a scam to trick the Ferangi, why else would it be a non-profit organization.

Hi, welcome to Fan Forum.

I agree with you that a prequel is full of possible continuity pitfalls that will be annoying to fans familiar with cannon. When the show has such an established history, I don't know why they want to mess with it by doing storylines in the past. They already did the Borg thing with Archer, so hopefully they won't go there.

hmm ... always wondered what happened to Wesley & the Traveller ...

I hope not. They already wrecked that continuity when they had Archer stumble across some old drones. I forget the specific episode.

I heard about that, but I never watched Enterprise. The Borg are the Best. Villians. Ever. but they need to stay in the Next Gen universe!!!

hmm ... there were Borg in Voyager, but since that was set after TNG, it didn't mess anything up.

That's what I meant. TNG and all things after.

Okay. Yeah, as long as they're not going back in time, I'm fine with them revisiting established storylines.

hmm ... I'd rather have something new. Don't mind references to established characters or maybe cameos (if done by the original actors) but I'm not sure about trying to pick up something so many years later.

True...but something that happened after the finale of VGR, not in the past. But that's just me. I'm a TNG/VGR Trekkie.

James Bond In Star Trek?

Latest rumours have Daniel Craig, the actor who portrays James Bond in the latest movie, interested in a role. Possibly as Dr. McCoy.

Apparently William Shatner has confirmed that new movie will feature a young Kirk and Spock. More here.
