I like some of the movies, don't like some of the others.

I couldn't stand the Motion Picture, too much focus on Illia (was that her name?) and that guy (I completely forget his, all I know is that he annoyed me), and not enough time spent on the people who mattered- Kirk, Spock and the rest of the crew.

I also didn't like The Final Frontier. If it weren't for the Kirk/Spock/McCoy interaction it would be unwatchable, IMO.

Wrath of Khan is my absolute favorite, but I enjoyed The Voyage Home, and thought The Undiscovered Country was a great send off film for the original cast.

I wasn't big on the Next Generation, so I've only seen parts of those films.

Who here understood the first ST movie: The Motion Picture. Till this day I still don't understand. Even mom doesn't get it! But of course the effects and soundtrack were wonderful!

Honestly, I never actually sat through any of the first three. They just didn't hold my interest, so I quit trying.

The only on past those that I really didn't care for was First COntact, and I think that was more because of the borg than anything else. I liked some of the guest stars and if it weren't for Alice Krige's performance as the Borg Queen, I would have considered it irredeemable.

Wrath of Khan, The Voyage Home and Insurrection are the only ones I make an effort to watch when they come on tv. I'm not sure if I'd bother to watch Nemesis when it airs.

Hee... I don't usually make an effort to watch any of the movies when they air on TV. I hate having to sit through commercials, especially when I know that they are taking the place of small bits of the movie. If I decide to watch a movie that is on TV, I usually find the tape/DVD and use that instead. I get done sooner than the TV version, and have seen more of the movie.

Alice's performance as the Borg Queen is something else! But question: what year was First Contact. Because didn't she guess star a couple of times on Voyager? When Seven of Nine was introduced?

According to StarTrek.com, First Contact was released November 22, 1996. They say that Alice Krige reprised the role for Endgame, which aired May 23, 2001.

Yeah! I was going to wait till that price went down. I remember when it first came out it was $14.99. Then the price was $22.99 I think.

Sounds like you're having a Trek marathon. Not a bad way to spend a long weekend.

Paramount postpones Tuesday release of Star Trek DVD, elements missing

Quote:
(CP) - In a move that could cost the studio a small fortune, Paramount is recalling all retail copies of its two-disc DVD release of Star Trek: Generations (Collector's Edition) because the discs do not contain a couple of trailers the box art promises. The set was to go on sale Tuesday, but a Paramount spokesperson says the re-release - with an added sticker advising the elements are missing - could take a month or two.
