I do wonder if he will be so desperate to be in Belle/babie's lives that he will try this. Jekyl and Hyde have been split more and longer than Regina; Hyde seems very unstable and Jekyl seems extremely anxious, is this a side effect of splitting? I think there are going to be consequences to splitting yourself,perhaps even deadly ones and Regina, J/H and perhaps Rumple may be in a dire situation needing to find a way to come back together.

Pure speculation of course, but maybe the dark side of Rumple would be so dangerous that he needs the good side to keep him in check and in doing so, he finds out he can control the dark magic after all? What do you think?

I'm not buying this and it's why I didn't post it before. This is one of those articles posted on a very small, minor site - all they do is compile info from larger sites and speculate. I’m shocked that so many people believe this on Tumblr given that there are tons of sites like this - and no, this is not me being depressing since I’ve been extremely positive. Movie News? Nope…it’s all speculation; there have been no reports about Rumple splitting himself….and it would be a total regression for him to do so rather than dealing with his darkness and accepting his goodness. Rumple splitting himself would be the opposite of his growing and finding himself at a new place - like Adam said he'd do.

He already knows he can control his darkness - it's a matter of him not thinking that that thats mostly all there is to him.

I don’t even find it that positive, either -Rumple’s true nature is NOT evil. That ticked me off.

Hmmm more speculation on Rumple splitting (and who knows if he will even do this): if he split, would both sides have magic? That would be very interesting to see light magic Rumple vs dark magic Rumple! Could one outsmart the other, or not, since they are the same person but split in two?

Don't be sorry, I'm not sure I buy it either, but I thought I'd share with you guys so we could discuss and speculate away!

and I agree, if Rumple's true nature was evil, he wouldn't have had the sole purpose of looking for his son for hundreds of years and then trying to protect his pregnant wife!

I don't think Rumple will split himself. I think they kind of did that already in 5a when they separated the DO from Rumple.

I think Rumbelle's story in S6 is going to be more about Belle accepting that she does truly love Rumple as dark as he is (otherwise their TLK in Skin Deep wouldn't have worked. I have a feeling Morpheus will remind her about that.), rather than Rumple trying to change himself to please Belle. I think the show's past that. Of course he needs to prove that she can trust him despite his darkness, but that's all.

The split might not even be a split. Maybe he gives up being the DO for his family and because he wants to be better for them and do it right which Adam and Eddie hinted at.

Wasn't there at one point an idea of Merlin's to cut out his immortality with the sword? Maybe Rumple will cut out the curse part with the sword?

Who knows. I just want him to change because he wants to and he realizes it isn't worth losing his family over again which would be a reverse of why he took it on in the first place. In one instance he takes it to protect and keep his son safe and he gives it up to keep his new child and wife safe.

I don't want him to split himself because it is a huge step back but I won't put it past the writers. Also the hints of him doing something heroic in the eyes of the beholder, his wanting to do it right this time, etc can allude to this along with the one were he makes mistakes because he can't help himself.

Only a few believe this article on tumblr and Marie, who posted it, just said she doesn't think it is accurate but posted it because it was semi-nice to Rumbelle and acknowledged that Rumple will do anything for his true love. It is sad that we have to cling to crumbs when it comes to the show and the media, isn't it?

TBH I have always had a thought in the back of my mind that Rumple will split, I don't know why though :look:...

I never thought Rumple would split himself too, but after the weirdness of the haircut, I don't have any theory to exclude, they all seem plausible :shrug:
