I think Justin knew Brian won't fight or make a scene when he decided to leave him again. In fact I think Justin was tired of fighting to keep their relationship going and tired of waiting for Brian to express his emotions out loud or show any signs for more commitement. That's basucally what made him leave, imo.

The interesting thing is that Brian did snap out when he found out Justin stayed at Micheal and Ben's place.

I think Justin hoped Brian would do something when he talked to him to tell him he was leaving him, but I also think he knew Brian wouldn't.

He knew Brian by then and he knew that Brian wouldn't fight for him.

It's so sad to wait and hope for something to happen but on the other hand knowing that it won't happen

I think that's why Justin left, actually. I mean he was obviously in love with Brian, he lived at the loft with him after Brian had officially asked him to move in with him but he wanted more and I guess he got fed up with the fact they were not moving in the same direction as a couple.

I understand where Justin was coming from but it was sad to witness the break up

Every break up is painful no matter what but this second break up was deffinitelly more frustrating because it came just as it seems as though B/J are settling into some kind of more stable relationship.
And it was sad because they both still loved each other bit Justin felt like things aren't moving the right way.

I don't think so...in fact, I think it was more than requited...

I don't think it was unrequinted. B/J didn't have to hide the fact they were lovers, at least not after a few 'early nights' in S1. It was clear to everyone, including themselves that they are very much in love.
The only major obstacles they had were those they created, I guess, esp when Brian kept insisting on an open relationship and Justin kept struggling for more commitement.

I think the friends and family considered Justin's love unrequited for a while in S1, but after the Prom, I think everybody, characters and viewers, knew Justin's love was returned.

I think at the beginning they dismissed it as real love.

But even so I guess people who knew him really well (such as Daphne ) could understand that his feelings for Brian are stong and it's not just a crash. Even Jeniffer realized quite early on that she can'tl stop Justin from seeing Brian, despite her reservations.

As for Brian- he obviously denyed it, and obviously didn't put a label on it or called it 'love' but he sure spent many 'early nights' with Justin
