I would rather have seen that than the mess was the other 'return' episode for Alex. Far more interesting than her going around the law. It is a whole new experience when you're the victim going through it. Maybe they could do it with one of the ADAs who were in it for a short period? But would be more meaningful if it was Alex or Casey.

^^ I agree. It was similar to how Olivia was held captive but she wasn't actually sexually assaulted but the fear was there that she would be.

But even in that she could feel what a victim may have felt.

I feel like some of the lawyer storylines never think of that as the lawyer is so focused on winning.

Yeah they have some odd storylines & focus when it comes to the lawyers sometimes

Plus I get with ADA's they have to listen to their boss, so on L&O Price (Dancy) has to listen to Jack McCoy (Sam Waterson), so while maybe they want to do something different they also have obligations to follow which can get more confusing when it comes to the victim...

Probably one of many reasons Alex got out...

I feel sometimes they listen, but then still go do whatever or at least try to. It is good when they are doing that to fight for the victim. Or they just get stuck because they have to listen, making things awkward for the victim as you said

^^ They definitely have tried. Asking that one question when someone is on the stand can open the door for a new hint at what went down and can open the door for other evidence to be brought in that the defense was able to get excluded the first time around.
