i def see that Aki is a bit shy and anxious and would love to see him more confident further on

Oh as for me, the only one I knew already is Laura Benanti! I remember when the casting news started to come ou I was like who are these people? even though I had already seen Emily in Revenge, but she was a kid then and I had absolutely no memory of her (I didn't even like the show).

Yeah, same about Aki. Which makes the whole thing with Max even better, you know that contrast between shy and introvert with confident and extrovert? Love it
Max and Audrey are too much Chair 2.0. in my opinion and we don't really need a replica of an OG couple. What's so interesting in such? I mean it's already been seen.

This was us rehearsing at @manhatta_nyc a billion years ago when we were all babies not knowing what we were doing in the show (except @joshsafran & @karenaevans ), newly navigating shooting a show during a pandemic, and also feeling like we’ve known each other our whole lives. The views could have been better but whatever (jk)

Ohh things are getting veeery interesting this week.

First of all Max is a total standout. this episode. Thomas is AMAZING, he shows all Max's vulnerability and heartbreak (especially when he's high of cocaine), but also his party-animal side. Also I liked a lot his friendship with Julien, it was so fun to see! I like Julien more every episode, they say she's like Serena, so maybe that's why? I liked her to leave her phone at home, at the end.

So the secret between Aki and Audrey is finally out, thanks to Max who - high af - told them. Even though seeing them both trying to hide it, fearing Max and GG, was fun (Aki thinking he's a terrible person, like HOW BB :LOVE, I'm glad it was finally known by both of them. Not sure I liked the super sweet apology they made to each other, like yeah, it was sweet, but...too much? I don't know if they really meant that they never thought to do it again (yeah, those "many many times" Audrey mentions were in fact all during that only night we didn't see). Maybe the reason why they weren't mad at each other is because they just felt guilty? It seemed sincere, but still there was something that didn't convince me. Especially because we know it won't end this way. I'm curious to see Audrey's reaction in the whole Aki plot, because Evan said that she's really supportive in her partner's path. My opinion is that they'll break up at some point, but still they'll remain bff.
For now Max isn't interested really in both of them, but it has sense. Same for them, like they're attracted to him, but there's also more about themselves that they're discovering.

Aki doing "extra homeworks" with the Scruff app you know I ship him with Max, but even if in this episode they weren't much "shippy" except for that hand on the knee moment (Aki didn't remove the hand like Audrey...), their scenes as some kind of partners in crime were awesome, they work so well together

Zoya and Obie, well. They're cute together, but still there's something unconvincing with them. Mostly coming from him, I don't know. She was cute with all her trying to follow Luna's advice, luckily she decided to be herself eventually. I don't like Luna La, by the way ("zugly"?? really??). Monet is mean, but still more likeable than her. Anyway it says much of them both the fact that they were already picking Zoya to replace Julien.

THE TEACHERS! They're such horrible people, I mean they basically caused their colleague firing! Anyway I still like them, what can I say

The drama at the play ohhhhh that's why I'm here. Also I ADORED the Smash cameo of Ann Harada (the stage manager in the play. She was Linda in Smash, a stage manager, so she reprised her role in another show). I want moreeeeeeeeee!
The play was kinda though. The messy seats were funny



Can't wait for next episode! It's going to be interesting as well Max on a bender, I don't know if I can make it Thomas will be amazing, though!

If Thomas doesn't get an Emmy next year, I'll riot! Anyway I was thinking...of course Max was deeply hurt, BUT have you noticed that when Rafa gives him the pillow, Max sits down and looks like pissed? What if going to cry on his doorstep was part of his plan? I'm not sure, of course, especially because in the next week promo he seems even more off the rails in that showers scene, but still...

They were so sneaky, like they made her posting the tip! Still I keep liking their malice, it's not good but is fun to watch for sure.

And an interview with Emily, Thomas and Evan about their characters dynamic. Very very interesting. I'm still not a fan of the poliamory thing, but we'll see if it leads there or not. The way Emily replies makes me think that Aki will open up to her and she'll be like I get it, feel free to explore and know yourself, I won't judge and I won't think you're cheating on me; at the same time she'll have to decide what she likes and how to deal with this situation of fluidity, like if it's for her or not.

I noticed Thomas always giving the same reply to anyone who asks him about Max picking one of the two or getting involved romantically, generally speaking. So I guess for now (maybe even the whole season 1) Max is going to serve only as a "awakening" factor for both Audrey and Aki. I thought also that maybe he replies like that because he's not allowed to speak about it, but I think is more the former.

I like Evan saying that the cast and crew are supportive and help him with acting. I saw a little improvement in this episode by the way.

yeah, same. Jason Gotay said in some stiries for Backstages that their characters connect because they have something in common, that they have chemistry, but this doesn't mean he or the show are going to condone the student/teacher thing. He couldn't say his favorite scenes because we didn't see them yet, but he really liked the one in episode 3.
Jason seems such a nice man and oh well he can sing! He posts such nice pics with Thomas, but ughhhh the plot is baaaaaad
I wonder if Aki interfering with Max's life will have something to do with this, even though it would be random since he (or anyone else) were okay with him pursuing the teacher. But who knows, maybe it will just be him being worried for Max's breakdown (see the promo) and downspiral.


Yes, Evan was better this ep! It must have been scary for him at firs, yeah, especially with all those great actors. I'm sure he'll get better and better


Speaking of Aki, they created for him an official Letterboxd profile! It's so cool, there are all his favorite movies ranked and they keep adding more ratings. Among his favorites you can find 2046 (his password!) and Badlands, from which he took his phone screen image.
He follows one of the GG writers too and also the actor who's going to play a guest in GG later this season. And I love his favorite lists, the one about queer movies and the one with movies about questioning love.
