I was fading in and out around inning 12 , woke up barley to shut off the TV as the Dodgers won

they really need to do something about extra innings, because you cant have these matches that go on 'forever'

Even Wimbledon, a tournament that is extremely traditional has taken steps to stop matches that are interminable, no thanks to the serve (unbreakable) of jon isner, and also no thanks to the non serve game of jon isner (he never breaks the opponent's serve) either

solutions can be->

a draw after a few extra innings - 3 sounds like a fair number - but nobody's gunna be happy about that

or, have automatic baserunners on first and second at the beginning of the 12th inning which they do for international matches or lesser leagues

if this were a regular season game I would do a draw but if it's closer to postseason/the actual postseason no unless if you do a doubleheader but that wouldn't work either

2nd option could work

I remember when my Giants had an 18 inning game in the postseason 2014 NLDS

NBA /NFL/NHL in the playoffs all play till there is a winner . I have seen NHL playoff games go 10 periods . Not sure why this year why the games are jammed together . After game 2 Should have had the extra day . Just Sat /Sunday ..

The Dodgers were already behind 2 games, so a ''draw'' wouldn't do them much good at this point. I generally don't mind baseball games being long. each team had chances to win it earlier & just didn't. Strange things happened in that game & unsure what Machado was doing not running hard on a hit that could've resulted in a double. Oh well. Glad the Dodgers won.

Baseball in general needs to make the game faster . There has been a talk over the past 2 seasons of a pitchers clock.. A lot of pictures will be very upset about any change .

the advantage the batters have is ridiculous

their enormous physiques, armed with a bat

what do the pitchers have? if you put a pitching clock, they might as well be good for rolling their arms over while batters just try outbat each other?

Very true about pitching yet some take way to long to throw .

Quite disappointing by the Dodgers yesterday. Their bullpen sure didn't live up to the hype. Ugh. Oh well. I'll probably skip game 5 today, but enjoy if you can & decide to watch.
