So you probably know that the Marlins have had a rough year thus far & well they tend to not get high attendance for their games, but it has gotten sadly worse this year. In fact The Marlins AA team called ''Jumbo Shrimp'' has actually outdrawn them for at least some home games this year.

Here's the story on that. Marlins beat Brewers in 12 innings in front of record-low crowd - Sun Sentinel They had a record low attendance vs. Milwaukee of 5,265 fans at yesterday's game. Well if Miami doesn't want a baseball team. We do here in Portland, though unsure how many want the Marlins here.

Enjoy the All Star Break guys.
Wow.

That is a sad attendance.

I guess it's not too funny, but there's of course I'd think already a ton of things to do in southern Florida, so I can imagine going to watch a baseball team struggle to win any games wouldn't be appealing there. Enjoy the All Star Game if anyone watches. I don't tend to watch much of em anymore.

oh man the All-Star game this year though

so crazy/exciting/wild

like watching a tennis/ping pong match

NL was so close to winning this year

Glad you liked it. Glad that the Regular games are back starting today, though. The American League races are mostly wrapped up already though. It will be Boston in all likelihood winning the A.L. East, Houston winning the A.L. West, & Cleveland winning the A.L. Central. The A.L. Wildcard race is still up for grabs though with Seattle on a losing streak, Oakland is just 3 games behind them, though I do expect it to be Seattle vs. the Yankees in the 1 game A.L. Playoff this year.

so, question

has there been a game in baseball where the first pitch of the game went for a home run
and the score finished 1-0?

thats the description of 'there goes the ballgame' if ever there was one

not sure

I think there probably has been at some point in history

does anyone else here know?

always a tight race in my division but I honestly have not been happy with my Giants as a team since 2012

it's interesting to see the Phillies and Braves being playoff contenders once again like back in the old days

we'll see what August brings

The Mariners are doing terrible lately. They let the A's pass em in the standings & lost to Toronto who has a bunch of juries including Josh Donaldson. Wow.

Cool. The M's are in a tough series with the A's. They lost by a run yesterday to Oakland & need to win this series to keep pace in the Wildcard race.

Geez. Well Those things are so silly to me. I know Puig is supposedly this big tough guy, but seeing all those people run onto the field is as predictable as it gets in situations like that. I do wonder though if Puig broke someone's jaw in a fight during an MLB game what the punishment would be. I'd guess there would be a lawsuit, though not positive.
