Thanks for bringing that, Karla! Shall I add it to the OP? Up there, it would be handy for people who don't have the book.

The Wendigo,
The Wendigo!
Its eyes are ice and indigo!
Its blood is rank and yellowish!
Its voice is hoarse and bellowish!
Its tentacles are slithery,
And scummy,
Slimy,
In my innudendo mind I bet you can guess what I read instead of tentacles.

I think it would be a nice addition to add that link to read Grimm Fairy Tales on line. I know I'm going to utilize it.

Those are some beautiful pictures of books on the shelf. Seeing an Anne Rice book, didn't she change the way we all thought about vampires? "Interview with a Vampire" is an all time classic for me. Before this book, the vampire was still a monster.

Anne Rice's Lestat and Louis really did change the perception of vampires. The first few of Rice's Lestat book were wonderful but, as so often happens to authors, she let the mythology take over the characters.
None was ever as good as Interview, imo, which made vampires seem sympathetic and beautiful and glamorous.
I don't watch any of the current crop of shows about them, but I do plan to watch Dracula after Grimm this fall.
