What a great idea for a thread! Cannot wait to see the opening post.

I'm sifting and sorting ideas and what I want the OP to depict. The thread was actually conceived by Patty's suggestions, so I'm going to pick her brain a bit, too. It will be a fun one to design!

All the Spanish influences here are a nice place for Juliette to slip in and save the day. She was raised in Spain by her grandmother, abuella

And speaking of Patty .. there she is!
You thought of this thread, sweetie, and I hoped you'd get in yesterday to open it. But since I had to go forward with it, tell me what would you like to see in the OP? __________________

I wonder from were the spelling of cuccuy is... because we know it as coco. Maybe SouthAmerican as Norbeto Barba ( director and producer) is from Argentina. The cucuy or coco here is really just tale to sent children to sleep, there's a song.... Quote:

No song that I know of, maybe someone else would? Unless you count "rockabye baby" which is really quite frightening if you listen to the words!
So what you call the "Coco"

So we chatted a bit about La Llorona, and about the Coco
Spoiler:
So what others? I liked the one about the cannibalistic Wendigo. He was a demonic creature that appeared in the legends of American Indian tribes of the NE US & Canadian Great Lakes region. As a child, I learned a poem Ogden Nash wrote about him: The Wendigo, The Wendigo! Its eyes are ice and indigo! Its blood is rank and yellowish! Its voice is hoarse and bellowish! Its tentacles are slithery, And scummy, Slimy, Leathery! Its lips are hungry blubbery, And smacky, Sucky, Rubbery! The Wendigo, The Wendigo! I saw it just a friend ago! Last night it lurked in Canada; Tonight, on your veranada! As you are lolling hammockwise It contemplates you stomachwise. You loll, It contemplates, It lollops. The rest is merely gulps and gollops. ~~~ Here's the Grimm version: __________________

Wendigo is a Woodland area Native American spirit. I will have to look that one up more.
My kids used to have a "Boogey man friend" that lived in the basement. He was green and friendly. So they weren't afraid, but I was. LOL Oppsy, Sherry you said that and much more. |

Did they really, Patty? Darn... I was just looking at a picture of a green monster and now I can't find it. If I do, we'll ask your kids to identify it!
