Why we LOVEBellarke:
I ship Bellarke because their relationship transcends romance. While I certainly hope it goes in that direction someday, I also feel so grateful to Eliza, Bob, and the writers for giving us this beautiful dynamic between two characters whose bond is rooted in friendship, mutual admiration and respect, trust and loyalty, and support. These qualities make them different from so many of the other relationships between young people on television these days. In many ways, they represent the kind of healthy, positive, unconditional love I hope to one day share with someone. For this reason, they are MY rep, and I feel proud to say that. - April7739
Bellarke is not the typical romance. The had to lead first. They had to do what was best for their people first . These are two people who have been through hell and could so easily have let the world they’re in break them. But they endure and keep going - in large part thanks to each other. Bellamy is a man who gives his all to care for others but is incredibly hard on himself. Clarke sees past his flaws to the good man he is. She believes in him and insists that he do the same. She draws strength from him while simultaneously strengthening him. In turn Bellamy accepts her strength and allows her to inspire him. I love how deep their connection is. They both had to become leaders and that has formed them as a person. And then they had to work together as leaders and that has formed their connection. They have an understanding of each other on a level no one else has or can have. Because they were the only two in that position. Even if it's not romantic or never turns out to be romantic, their connection is deep, their love for each other is real. Well, what can I say about Bellamy/Clarke? I’ve shipped for many, MANY years but I’ve never come across a pairing such as Bellarke. They’re unique in the sense that their bond transcends a simple, trivial romance and you just end up rooting for these two silly kids to have their happy ending – whatever that might entail. I’d love for them to be canon ultimately, but honestly being able to see such a deep, beautiful, intense relationship and partnership between these two is rewarding enough. So if it turns romantic, it’s just icing on the cake because as painful as this shipping journey has been so far, I wouldn’t give it up for anything because Bellamy/Clarke are so worth it. - pretty lies

Okay, new thread! Sorry that took me a bit. I fixed up a broken gif link, updated names to reflect name changes on the list and on the testimonials, removed a couple future thread titles that were on there twice, and added "The Head & The Heart" back into the title. :)

Steph kind of mentioned this in the last thread, too, but in this journey of knowing yourself and loving yourself, I think Bellamy and Clarke have both struggled, but he's moved ahead of her this season. Given the events of the last two episodes, one can definitely argue that Clarke has even regressed, as many of us have even pointed out here and in the Clarke thread how lost she looks and how she doesn't even seem to recognize herself. So interestingly enough, I think that what Bob's saying here actually applies quite a bit to Clarke, too, probably even more so to her (right now) than to Bellamy. But it still applies to Bellamy, too, because it's an ongoing process. Always.
Clarke and Bellamy have both had some very intriguing storylines as individuals this season, storylines that exist both independently but also overlap with each other.
Anyway, what Bob said reminded me to bring that up, the idea that Bellamy has really moved ahead of Clarke this season, how it's important for him to have the moments of self-growth that he's having right now and important for her to have that someday, too.

April, yes, I definitely think Bellamy has gone through his journey and is in a mostly good place right now. Clarke is a hot mess though. Girl needs a vacation!

I don't know if Bellamy will ever stop going through that journey, though. I think it's an ongoing process, so it's a journey he'll always be on. It doesn't stop.
Clarke is a hot mess right now, for sure. These past couple episodes have taken her to some of her lowest lows as a leader and as a person. Regardless of how we the viewing audience might be either critical of her decision-making, empathetic towards it, or some combination of the two, I think the last episode made it clear just how conflicted and ashamed she herself feels about it.
Gonna read Margaux's post today that I haven't been able to yet.

Look at their faces. Bellamy actually looks so calm, whereas Clarke . . . my god, look at that last gif. I don't think I have EVER seen her look like that. Kudos to Eliza. Wow.
ETA: Oh, also, I got to 40K last night, and I have no idea what thread it was in. I think it may have been somewhere on Bob's board, which means that my 40,000th post was probably very silly and smutty. :P
So I am super emotional right now because I have realized that the last Bellarke scene was a parallel to their first scene.

Well Bellamy opened the door each time. It's interesting that Bellamy is the one to open doors and Clarke the one to close them.And you know what else ? This time, the air is actually toxic.

The stark differences in their expressions are pretty amazing.

Just commenting on Bob's thoughts there ... I do agree and it's absolutely crucial for Bellamy to find himself first and start healing before he can get into another relationship. Especially one which is as cruclal as this one, and I'm sure that there's some fear of destroying the friendship/bond that they have now. But as you guys have said in here/previous thread already, he's somewhat there already and at the very least, has rationalised his feelings for Clarke ... Clarke on the other hand, I think that she still has a long way to go and that she still hasn't quite articulated what she feels for Bellamy, though her actions speak otherwise/volumes. ;) So, it'll be interesting to see how this continues to play out and whether we will see progress in that area in the next two episodes (though I honestly doubt it). Or whether this is something that TPTB are intending to flesh out more in Season 5.
