Sorry about the storms, stay safe.
Off to the renaissance fair with the family today. I haven't been to one since before we had the six year old, so this'll be fun. |

It was fun-- jousting, live chess, seeing the castle ( real replica castle the host built and lives in). The kids got to play at jousting, run a maze, get tiaras. Just before we left, the hair braiding booth ladies approached me and asked if they could practice something on my hair and they'd give me a free braid when they were done. So that was fun, and painful, but fun.

Do they at least have renaissance fairs? I would recommend going to one if possible. This was my second time, but I found it worthwhile. Although my husband complained later that he spent far to much time looking for his dad, lol. We brought his parents along for free since it was family day, and his dad is getting a bit absent-minded these days. We thought we could use phones to keep track of each other, but we didn't have service in most areas.

Those are fun too. We went to the one around here a couple of times when it was held closer ( And it was a good deal cheaper too.)
After we went to the faire, my husband turned to me and said, this is your Mother's Day present. I was fine with that. I was actually surprised that he'd agreed to go in the first place. |

Just recently in past few years I
Noticed there is some kind of Renaissance fair I don't know how big it is though. I feel like there is a lot of exciting history with celtics __________________

I like a lot of Celtic stuff too. Lots of Scottish ancestors for both my husband and I. I've been into Norse a lot lately-- my grandfather was from Norway and I've been talking to my Norwegian cousins on Facebook.
My oldest daughter is really into her Hispanic heritage though (my husband's mom is Mexican. Yeah, just call my kids mutts, lol) and is cooking up something for Cinco de Mayo tomorrow. |

That's how far or more I have to go on most lines except for my Norwegian grandpa, and for my husband and kids the Mexican side.
My mother-in-law was watching me glow in the sunshine at the faire and laughed, " There's not a drop of Hispanic in you is there?" Nope, all northern Europe-- British Isles, Norway, and Denmark, and that's it. |
