In the fourth ep of S19 (Gibbs' final ep) Torres & Knight are talking/joking around & he asks her about having a hypothetical husband & if she'd share passwords & bank accounts with him. So it is clear from here she's not married & presumably hasn't been so they definitely had moved away from that initial character backstory here __________________

I recall that conversation...
tbh I'm glad that they changed the backstory, as we already had Bishop as joining the agency while married, and Jane in Hawai'i as well who was married with children... It would have been somewhat weird to get a 3rd agent who has a similar background to already existing, or in Tenant's simultaneously developing, characters... __________________

Yeah too close to what she replaced, as well as what they already had developing. Although Tennant is divorced with older children so still different.

 Maybe the married backstory came to establish that there won't be anything between Knight & Torres... but then the similiraties and Katrina having chemistry with Brian has changed their minds... And we got Jess who's a clueless aunt with a complicated sister __________________

No clue, I don't think so... She probably has one more sibling. Of course I'm not actually caught with season 20, only watched the triple crossover episode from the OG this year, and the season opener... __________________
