Mayim Bialik, “The Big Bang Theory” (CBS) – Consistently funny, Mayim manages to make Amy Farrah Fowler into one of the show’s most complex characters. From one vantage point, it’s easy to think of her as this female Sheldon, this overly scientific woman with little interest in human emotion. However, where she differs is in her capacity and interest in love, and valuing interpersonal connection. These traits combined make her somewhat different than everyone else on the show.

I'm not that frustrated she recently got her critics choice award. Emmys is always about politics and promoting new shows... :rolleyes:

Critic's Choice is more important IMO.

This is so disappointing :( I had really high hopes that this might finally be her year since she won a CCA and an unprecedented amount of critical praise...Mayim herself is sad about it.

Now that she's out and the show just keeps getting older, I'm scared that this means she'll never get back in again :bawl: Well unless, the writers decide to write Amy an epic, Emmy-baiting episode :look:

I don't see that happening though :lol: (For one it really wouldn't be fair to the other characters/actors)

I do think that there are a lot of politics involved but not too sure about promoting new shows...:look: After all, it is the award show known for its frequently nominating/awarding the same people/shows over and over again, with many categories only having one new nominee each year.

However, it does seem that there are some new shows being honoured now since it is believed that we live in a new "Golden Age of Television" and there's been a lot of new shows that's been getting a lot of critical acclaim but relatively little mainstream popularity...It definitively looks like these industry award shows favour what's "trendy" and highbrow over the what's mainstream and popular :rolleyes:

This is probably a result of Season 9. We were complaining a lot about Amys storyline. Mayim did great with the few scenes she had but alltogether that whole break-up disaster didn't help her because it was told from Sheldons point of view.
