Huh, that's a good thought...last time Mayim wasn't in it Bernadette was, but I think Mayim was missing because Amy didn't fit in the episode and not Mayim actually couldn't be there, so...well, now I'm hoping that it's a main five ep. Howard shouldn't be in space yet.

I don't want to, like... kick Melissa out, just because Mayim can't be there. But at the same time, it would be kinda nice to go back to the core group for an episode.

What if this will be an episode wherein Amy will be gone for a convention? I think some shamy fans has mentioned the thought of that possible episode.

ok, I'm gonna sound a little nuts and OCD and I don't have a screenshot 'cos I'm at work, but last night, in the scene when Sheldon is sleeping in Amy's couch, there is a National Geographic Traveler magazine, special edition Paris on her cofee table. (I zoomed it and was able to read it)... ... ... It caught my attention because the magazines at Amy's are always Neurobiology or Neuroscience related.

it may not mean anything but I did catch that... maybe she is going to Paris?.. if she is... I want Sheldon to go with her but he probably won't then...

That is actually a good idea to write her out for one episode. Have her go to Paris for a neurobiology convention or something. They could even squeeze in a skpe moment and film it early if they wanted to. Could this be the episode where Sheldon has a revelation regarding his feelings for a certain someone? What better way to do that than with Amy being away and Sheldon missing her?? Sorry, I know this is a comment best reserved for the Shamy thread, but they aren't discussing Mayim's absence in that thread, and I don't want to rain on their parade.

yes honey. Bunny Kitten will do it as soon as she gets a hold of a computer. Also, since back in one of the news thread I had the hypothesis that if Ms. Tara (one of the writers credited for 5.08, 5.12 5.16) is actually to be attributed with Amy/Shamy episodes, then my hypothesis of having Amy leave for a convention or something might be correct. Love the observation, Yanina!

The episode that Tara is credited for is 5.19, The Weekend Vortex. Mayim is presumably going to miss 5.20. But yeah, something could happen in 5.19 that would lead to Amy not being present in 5.20.
