I wrote that after my aunt's funeral because another aunt treated me that way. She is very religious and doesn't believe in mixing races (my daughter is 1/2 black because of a rape, so she doesn't seem to mind that) and while she isn't homophobic she doesn't support homosexuality (I'm a lesbian, so that is okay, too). She didn't even speak to me at the funeral and the only time she spoke to my mom was to chastise her. Needless to say Mama and I both were angry - me because of how she treated mom and mom because of how she treated me.

It has and writing does help. I first started by listening to music and the way the song told a story...that's how I learned to express my feelings. I can't write a song, but because of the way I write I have been told that I should try song writing. I did and it didn't go well...I didn't like the way it came out, so I went back to what I like.

Thanks. I tried that before, but still felt like an outsider. Not anyone's fault and no one went out of the way to make me feel that...I just feel like the new kid in school, if that makes any sense.
