Kali As you know, I'm very sorry for your loss. If you need anything, just let me know.

Karen, my name is Kali, and you are right, this is a totally different kind of grief, all the others I've lost in my life we had advanced warning. thank you

And the song, her husband wants to play that at her celebration of life service.

Not to over shine you or anything, but can you imagine the sudden loss with my mom's death (like your friend's)? Falling down the stairs and ultimately breaking her neck?

But yeah, it's such a horrible feeling. I'm so sorry you had to experience it. Life is so precious.

It made me mad when my mom died suddenly and someone I know was/is constantly "killing" himself as he abuses drugs... why does he get to live and she died? But, you know, you can't think like that... it only brings down misery.

Not over shining at all I understand it more now than I ever could have before. It's this numb disbelief and it's like you're aware of everything but somehow at the same time removed from reality. And for it to be your mother makes it even more intense if that makes any sense.

Her husband...is its odd he's this big man, manly man and his eyes are empty but then his kids get within 10 feet of him and the life comes back for a bit.. This entire thing is I don't know how to describe it. I think because my nieces play with their kids he feels better that they stay here for a few hours a day....and I'm glad to have them here really, they are 4 and 7 but the oldest keeps asking questions and i think it's something their father needs to answer but you can't leave them without an answered either. And the 7yr ol is terrified to go to sleep now.. I feel so useless.

When her husband came to get the kids earlier, he had been meeting with funeral people and he said it was like buying a car, make , model, color...then he laughed and said she'd get a kick out of having a stereo installed in her casket that blasted her favorite music ...his laughing made me laugh and them it was guilty feelings all around for the inappropriateness of the moment...

And major yes about other people taking like for granted...i feel the same way with people who threaten suicide for attention..

My brother in law's sister died in her sleep. This happened a long time ago... my sister was repeating what happened to me, and my niece, she was around 6 at the time, got really paranoid. I'm sure she had a hard time falling asleep that night...

My heart breaks for the children as they are so young. Her husband is probably still in shock.

It's hard to explain to young ones without freaking them out.

Yes, shock, i think it's because he found her, that has added a lot of extra * what ever word fits here.*

Oh, Yes of course Kali I forgot...didn't see your name in your signature and haven't really talked much to you directly lately.

I lost a close high school friend less than 5 years after graduation. She was killed in a car crash. So did her young daughter. That was a shock. I was in town to visit her and found out from the brother.

totally understand, I used to have it in my sig I should probably put it back

Oh wow, that must have been really hard

I found this....it's comforting

It's a bit small but it says

God looked around his garden
And found an empty space
Then he looked down upon this earth
And saw your tired face
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest
God's Garden must be beautiful
He only takes the best.

That's a sweet quote. Maybe we should add it to the OP?

ETA: I put it as our quote of the month.

All results are leading to natural causes, they're waiting for toxicology results but say that there were no signs of anything suspicious. Her service has been set for Monday.

Aw. She was so young! How can someone die of natural causes at that age?
