I believe (hee) the original "Think" is Aretha Franklin's. All the Aretha songs make Delly soulmates once more. (I. Cannot. Believe. The Third Person. Will. Play. Her. On. 'American Dreams.' I could puke.) Also, they both like to sing Celine Dion, too.

1. Well, there's "Think" and "Chain of Fools" on Diana's part, and "Natural Woman," "Respect," and "Don't Play That Song" on Kelly's. Those are the only ones I know. Who says AI ruins music for the younger generation? I know a lot more "classic" songs now than I did before it aired.

2. I don't know. I read there's also talks of Ashlee Simpson playing Janis Joplin. I like Ashlee, but, c'mon. (On a side note, Fantasia has mentioned wanting to do some Janis covers on AI or compared herself to Janis or something involving Janis that made some people say, "Janis is spinning in her grave right now," and that makes me laugh more than anything else.)

Heh. Just as I read that, she gasped a little during "Crazy," which is something I hadn't noticed before. Now that performance is hotter.

You should hear Liz Phair sing live. She was part of the Rockefeller tree lighting, too. It was 2 hours here in NY, but just the last hour aired everywhere else. Some performers sang twice (like Kelly), once each hour, and a few only sang once. Liz Phair's performance in the first hour made me, like, suicidal. It was the worst singing I have EVER heard from a "professional," by FAR. Incidentally, she was one of the few who didn't perform twice.
