Tara wasn't one dimensional. Amber Benson's performance made her a full person.

What specifically did you not like about Willow?
Willow was selfish, self-serving, self-absorbed, weak, hypocritical, irresponsible and downright creepy. I found Hannigan's performance often annoying. I tried to like Willow but I didn't find Hannigan's performance very likeable. More ok in earlier seasons. Willow's self-satisfied manner really grated. I didn't find Willow interesting at all.

Is it really one dimensional if she was just a sweet person?

sum1 03-13-2008 09:47 AM

She came off as more than just a sweet person. And she showed a harder side when Anya was giving Willow trouble in Older and Far Away.

Oz and Willow all the way.

First off he saw her when noone else did. Everyone was so concentrated on Cordy and Buffy but there he was always seeing her in a crowd or walking across the street.

AND AND AND!!

She wanted to kiss him and he refused! Not because he didn't like her or he was hung up on someone else but because he knew she was emotional unavailalbe. Because she was the girl of his dreams and in his dreams she was kissing him back so he could wait... could he be any better?

Willow and Oz, baby!

So true.

I look back at the show now, and to me, Willow and Oz just strikes me as an ultimate couple of the show. And they had that "what if/maybe someday" open ending that I respected the writers for including, because it isn't giving them closure, because this couple wasn't meant to have closure. They're the type of couple I believe would find their way back to each other someday. :)

I liked Tara/Willow better but at first I didn't liked them that much. I tought that Willow should had waited to Oz to come back to her. And he told her he would someday...

I really disliked the fact that Willow had to choose between Oz and Tara and at that time I would've loved her to choose Oz.

But I followed the course of the serie and when Willow and Tara started to be together I've changed my mind, they seemed (to me) to be way more in love with each others in a different way that Oz and Willow were. I saw this relationship as an evolution of the character of Willow and I liked the way that Tara was shy and supportive of her.

What I really didn't loved was when Willow was hiding her relation with Tara... That was a little bit cheap to my taste.

And finally, I would've prefer that Willow was not really lesbian but just in love with one woman and after the death of Tara that she could've reach Oz and I don't know hang with him or something. If Oz was there I don't think we would had the "evil" Willow of the end of season 6.

I always felt that Willow loved Tara deeper then she loved Oz. While it was clear that Willow loved Oz and that she was devestated by his departure I just didn't get the same sense of loss Willow felt after Tara broke up with her or moved out. But both relationships were in very different points of her life it seems. There's a direct contrast between Willow season 4 to Willow seasons 5 and up to me. She became much more intense and much more confident and direct in the later seasons.

I know one thing, I can't STAND willow and kennedy. Kennedy is just a waste in general but still. Anyways, when it comes to picking b/w Oz and Tara I'm not sure who to pick since I really like both of them in their own time. Season 5 is a really good Willow\Tara season and Willow\Oz are just too cute in Season 2 and even in Season 3 when they broke up they way they got back together was very nice.

sum1 03-20-2008 11:37 PM

I don't Willow ever really loved either Tara or Oz. I think she just used them. Otherwise she would have had more sympathy for Oz when he was going through his season 4 problems and she wouldn't have messed with Tara's mind like she did. Willow was a totally selfish character, too selfish for genuine love.

Sin* 03-21-2008 06:36 AM

I disagree with Willow being to selfish for love. I hated that she cheated on Oz with Xander and that we never got a proper conclusion to that pairing especially considering the build up they gave to them in seasons 1 and 2. Season 3 was by all means a huge bust for what could have been an interesting storyline for those three relationships and those four characters. I believe Willow loved Oz because of how hurt she was by her betrayal with Veruka and even at the end she couldn't take revenge on him because she still loved him too much to try and hurt him. Tara to me goes without saying. Willow completely lost it when she died and her death had a profound impact on her. Just thinking about "Conversations With Dead People", "The Killer In Me" and the last episodes of season 6 prety much solidifies the depth of grief Willow feels for Tara and how much she loved her. Willow was irrate and wanted to kill everyone and everything that lead to the death of Tara.

In my opinion Willow was in love with both Tara & Oz, as to who she was truley ment for I wouldn't be able to decided. Each realtionship had different aspects & different views. Oz was Willow's first love, first boyfriend a lot of firsts & that always stays with you, the way they had ended in 'New Moon Rising' was justified, I think there ending wraped up there realtionship & still left on the note of a maybe... But see with Tara I think Willow was greatly in love with her, but there ending was not justified & left no hope which hurt, I mean if she didn't love Tara Willow wouldn't have completly raged & kill Warren & tried to kill Johnathan & Andrew, she was hurting & the way she broke down after Xander stoped her from destroying the world so she wouldn't have to feel the pain anymore, was devistating. I mean they were on the rocks for a while than they FINALLY get back together & theres hope & they were together again than *BAM* she gets killed, for somone to react like that, she did love Tara, no doubt about it... How she kept telling Kennedy to stop saying her name in 'The Killer In Me' or when she was telling her how they were private, Tara will always be with Willow, just like Oz, & it's so hard to choose between the two.

HitMan007 03-25-2008 01:23 PM

Its hard to decide between the two. As bekka said both relationships hold significance for willow. And as for who was better both were two completely different charachters and both worked well with willow. But if i had to choose one i would probably have to choose oz becuase he was quiet and always in the background but when a situation arose and willow was involved he would immediately step up. But both were great.

McAwesome 04-12-2008 12:41 PM

Well yes Oz was great but in the end she can't change her sexuality I mean yes we can say who she would have been better off with but in the end it would have been Tara because now Willow is into girls... But I'm just saying.

osbourne 04-12-2008 11:15 PM

I don't know who said it, but someone in the thread said that they would have preferred if Willow had only fallen in love with one woman and then waited for Oz and I agree with that. I honestly believe that Willow will always be in love with Tara and Kennedy is really just convenient. Kennedy is HORRIBLE and watching them on screen was as painful as that ship. However, I do believe that even if Oz were in Sunnydale when Tara was killed, we would have seen Evil Willow regardless. The pain she felt when Tara died, was a million times more intense than the pain we saw when Oz left her. I know it's two completely different things, but either way, Willow was just destroyed when Oz left and the second time around, she chose Tara. So it really just says a lot.
