Welcome to the Emily Van Camp/Amy Abbott Appreciation Thread! Here's the place to express your thoughts, likes, dislikes, and opinions of Emily Van Camp and her Everwood character Amy Abbott.

Born in Port Perry, Ontario, VanCamp has been performing since the age of 3 as a dancer and at 12 was accepted into the prestigious LEcole Superieure de Danse de Quebec, the official training program of Les Grands Ballet Canadiens. She moved to Vancouver for the intensive training program.

When her older sister, Katie, also a dancer, was cast in a film as a ballerina, Emily fell in love with acting while visiting the set. Since then, she has amassed both television and feature film credits.

In the television miniseries "Jackie O: A Life Story," she portrayed Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis at the age of 13. Frances Fisher, who plays VanCamps mother in "Glory Days," played her mother in the project. Most recently, Emily starred in last years Sundance Film Festival hit "Lost & Delirious" and will be seen in the upcoming feature film "No Good Deed" opposite Samuel L. Jackson Her television debut was on the short live WB show Glory Days when she played Sam. When not on the Vancouver set of "Glory Days," Emily continues her dance training, including ballet, tap, jazz and hip-hop.

I think you found good reasons. To change the hair of a person in that drastic way isn't good, but she only had 2 episodes left. But remember how shocked I was when I saw Emily with black hair, I think the audience would've been väry shocked.

Hihi, I understand a bit french. Yeah, you're absolutely reight, she said "Vielen Dank an alle Zuseher für's Ansehen der Serie", she thanked "the whole world, but I think tous le monde is a phrase and means kinda everyone."

I don't exactly remember which male poster started all of this....but the word muffin was coined as a word to mean a part (or two) of Emily's anatomy.

She did wear a lot of nice tight sweaters...especially the blue one.

I don't believe that it was meant to mock her. It was all in jest....but was supposed to be complimentary.

We can now be certain that this fan is not going to take any credit for coining this term.

Hee. Well, it's more innocent than it sounds. It's more of an inside joke.

A long time ago, when I was just a little newbie, we (I'm not actually sure I was part of that discussion) were looking at Emily pictures and discussing how adorable she is and I didn't find those posts yet, so I'll have to tell you from my memory, but here's what was said in this discussion:

Everwoodian Kopite (I think that was his name) said something like this:
"It's just like... you'd want to give her a muffin.

... I just realize this might be misunderstood: By giving her a muffin I just meant the way Ephram gave Ada his white chocolate muffin."

And then Grant ('Tos) said something like:
"Yeah, sure.. that's what you meant.."
Whatever he said, he was mocking Everwoodian Kopite.

A little later someone posted a screenshot of Emily in season 3 where she was wearing a T-Shirt with a strange print on the front.

As he saw that picture, Grant was interested in that print because it was really hard to see what exactly that print showed (I think it was a stylized chameleon) and asked if someone had a bigger picture of that T-shirt. He added: "No, I don't want to look at her muffins!" Just to make sure everyone knows it's just about the shirt... but obviously he was mocked about it anyway.

Soon after, Wilpen, I think it was, started a new Emily thread which was titled: "'Tos wants to look at her muffins but won't admit it!"

That's about how the muffins got into the title.

Okay, thank you your explanation, sounds funny, a bit strange, but I think all in all it's really alright. I was just a bit exaggerating when I read the first answer with the muffins, cos nobody should say bad things about ours Queen Emily.

Japp, Season 1 ist one of my at least top 3 seasons of all tv shows I've seen!

Nah, no problem. I'll check out "Glory Days", but because of my current very tight tv schedule I can't find any time. But it's better that way, I have something to look forward to in case no movie is released the next months.

Ich weiß. Ich hab mich gefreut, dass endlich auch mal Deutschland/Österreich (glaub der ORF hätte diesen 2-Teiler auch gezeigt) in den Genuss von Emily kommt, aber Pustekuchen. Ich verstehe es auch nicht. Weiß nicht ob du das mitgekriegt hast: ein US-Sender (History irgendwas) hat eine 8-Teilige-Serie über die Kennedys gedreht, aber lässt sie jetzt nicht ausstrahlen, weil's nicht politisch korrekt ist. Gibt also Gründe gewisse Sachen zu drehen, aber nicht auszustrahlen. Leider. Ui, jetzt bin ich mächtig sauer auf Pro 7. Österreicht hat Everwood gezeigt, und B&S zumindest die erste Staffel schon vor ein paar Jahren, und sogar Glory Days lief da. Sonst wäre ich nicht so schnell auf die liebe Emily gestoßen.

Huh, am I a genius or what? Maybe if I meet Mrs. VanCamp, I could have a halfway decent conversation with her using some french words.

I don't know. I like Jessica Paré, but I'm not a real fan. I really liked her in "Lost & Delirious" and "Jack & Bobby", and that's all I've seen from her. In the next 3-4 months I'll start with Mad Men Season 4, where she will have a role. That's great. So I'm no fan, but I like her. Hope that answers your question.
