I had given Hubby a Fringe shirt for Christmas a couple years ago and it is one of the glyphs from the show and only Fringe fans would recognize it, he loves it, so the same could be said for the "ask me to stay" saying.
What other iconic quotes would there be that only DC fans would get. Everyone - feel free to post any you think of, it might be fun to revisit those. __________________

Took me half a year but I just finished season. 2 of the show and wanted to share a few thoughts
- This show is getting pretty dramatic. Deaths, mental illness, heartbreaks, sexual identity crisis. The first season hit on some deep issues but I feel the tone in season 2 has upped the tragedy a lot! - I cant believe they killed off abby! She was such a great and mischievous character who I felt had a lot more development to explore! - Andys acting really shone in her mental illness episodes. That scene/episode when she locked herself in the bathroom was like wow. She has one of the hardest roles on the show and the actress nails it - Katie holmes' portrayal of joey comes across as very simple but theres a lot subtely in her expressions and eye movements. More and more I am appriciating how effortless she portrays this character - I feel like there was a lot less buddy moments between pacey and Dawson this season and I kinda miss their guy banter - I still dont really care about Jens whole tortured outsider thing. She doesntngel with the group that well. Andy and Jack have incorporated into the show/group Dynamic better than her and they have only been around for like 1 season. She reminds me of a less effective pheobe from friends, except instead of providing zany humour she just has a bunch of problems. I know it sounds horrible but I wish she died instead of abby. Hopefully with Jack moving in with her, he will elevate her Dynamic more in season 3 - I still dont feel like joey or Dawson really work as a couple. For the last quarter of this season they were kinda on autopilot and every conversation they had ended with them kissing to make up for their lack of chemistry. - I really liked the additions of both that girl character who was the lead in dawsons movie, and dawsons film teacher. They both added interesting dynamics and pushed the characters buttons in the right ways. - Pacey had a couple of very emotional moments 1) when he stood up to that jerk teacher for making jack read his poem in front of the class and 2) when he hit his dad for bad mouthing Andy - you could really feel the passion and anger and offense he took to that. A powerful scene. Overall I didnt enjoy this season as much as the first due it being heavier in subject matter. But still it was pretty good overall. Will try and finish up season. 3 quicker than it took me to finish this season :p Cheers |

If it's your first time watching the episodes, you will love S3. That's the best season IMO.

That was a very good description of Season 2, well done.
I think S3 is a bit lighter than S2, but of course there is still going to be angst. You were pretty spot on as far as Jen's character in S2 and I think Michelle Williams felt that too because she has once said she didn't really know why she was in the show (or something like that) because wasn't sure how she fit. That does change though, so something to look forward to. I agree with you regarding Pacey and Dawson's friendship, they didn't really spend much time together in S2, but that's because there was a lot about Pacey and Andie. A lot of people out there also feel the lack of chemistry between Dawson and Joey which is why they never really rooted for them, but there are still DJo fans out there and on this Board. I think Dawson and Joey worked well in S1 as a couple, but then going forward they were much better as friends. They still had great dynamic like family and how well they knew each other, so there's that. Can't wait to see what you think of S3. __________________

@butterfly85
Yes its my first time with the series. Nice, I look forward to season 3 and more creek days! @jjh85 Thats interesting that jens actor felt the same way! Makes me feel a little more sympathetic considering shes selfaware of the issue. Fully agreed about your analysis of joey & Dawson. They worked in s1 when they were in that first love stage but at this point they dont feel like what the other needs anymore, imo. But ofc theyre still work as very close friends. Thanks! Ill make a post when I get through it. In the meantime im dipping to avoid spoilers and whatnot lol |

S2 is one of my least favorite seasons cause it just felt so immature and overdramatic Dawson/Joey are the main example of that. I agree about them, they work better as friends. They never worked as a couple or had that type of chemistry to me. I only kind of liked them in S1, after that just no. They could also never make it work longer than a few weeks, so they just weren't meant to be. Jen was a mess this season but I agree, her role gets better on the show. Her seducing Dawson is so EMBARASSING though. I hated Abby but I agree that they shouldn't of killed her off. The best things about S2 are Pacey/Andie (I wasn't a fan of them but they did have a great arc and the scenes of Andie's mental illness) and Jack coming out. The rest I can do without. Yep, S3 is where it's at. Enjoy

I sort of agree about Abby. It would've been interesting to see where she would have ended up if she wasn't killed. I liked Jen better in all the other seasons than S2. Looking forward to what you say about S3. __________________
