Sophies

In Episode 5.03, Written in the Stars, Logan tells Rory that she should call him "Master and Commander."

Master and Commander is the first of Patrick O'Brian's novels about Jack Aubrey. Sophie is the square-rigged ship that Aubrey is Master and Commander of, and those who crew in her refer to themselves as Sophies. It is the ship where Jack Aubrey first makes his name.

So, it is in this spirit that those who ship the Master and Commander and His Lady are known as: Sophies.

There will be a further twist on down the line as far as the direction that Logan’s going to go for the last chunk of the season. So the internet company and how he interacts with his passion and what happens with the internet company is really going to inform the storylines for him and for Rory and their relationship."

Kristin in E!Online interviews Matt Czuchry: He thinks that Rory and Logan's storyline would resonate with young adults because it highlights the tension of Logan taking on his family responsibilities, and Rory finding out what she wants for herself professionally. He thinks Rory should remain single if this were the last season [in reaction to Kristin's comment about a "big Rory and Logan wedding"].

From GGMinn: Rory will have no new love interest.

Alan Sepinwall of The Star Ledger chats with DR at the CW party: "The first part of the season is (Logan and Rory) trying to deal with a long-distance relationship. Something will come and change that."

Maureen Ryan of The Chicago Tribune quotes Dave Rosenthal: "We have the benefit of seeing the future and knowing where we want to take them. So while something may be disturbing in the short run, or upsetting or confusing to a fan, we as the writers recognize that, yes, that’s upsetting but ultimately that's the journey that this character has to go on, they're required to do this or that...ultimately we're interested in personal growth. Obviously if characters never went through difficult times or never suffered, or had to face obstacles it would be hard for them to grow."

Sandra, not to bring things up again. Just wanted to let you know that I totally get where that post came from, since well, I feel the same. And I know it is not just you ...

Okee, more and more things pointing to a Season 8. Give us that official statement NOW ... I so don't want to hype myself up too much. I just want that official statement that says ALL are aboard for another season ...

It's March. It's time to announce whether it returns or not. I am still going with the brother who shared the info on the tour. Also, the prop guys did not seem like a bunch of brothers that would be looking for a job in in less than a month.

If we get new spoilers that are relevant about the show we could add them.


Aren't they employed by the CW and will work on another show if GG gets canceld? I don't think the news of Matt, SP, another male actor, DR and who knows maybe all of them, looking for other jobs has to mean anything. It's good when they negotiates for the salary for the next year for their bosses to know they could get payed a lot elsewhere.

But yeahm, I think an eight season or a cancelation will be announced in March.

And I would hope there will be something definite around in this month about the future of this show. I am getting kind of fed up with going from YEAH to trying to control my expectations and make sure the dissapointment ain't to big ... but well, all we can do really is wait. I guess I am not so good at that

I really want to without any doubt go with that 'brother' ... and I am much more positive now about a Season 8 ... but unfortunately I do still need an official statement to really get all excited and happy and all.

IA that both couples are very much alike. Which makes me positive about RL, since Richard and Emily are a very strong and successful couple. I love how they are a reall team for everything, even if at times they are mad at each other.

And Emily has been the main enthusiastic of RL as a couple in the show since season 5. And her comment about Logan to Rory shows that she didn't change her opinion about the couple last episode:

And Rory's smile while saying "yeah" also shows that, not only she knows that Logan is a great guy, but also that she was hearing Emily's opinion.

And that something I loved in GGO: how comfortable are Rory and Emily together. Rory was very welcome to Emily's input and didn't have trouble opening to her grandmother about her issues with Logan.

And the last scene with Mia showed how much Emily knows her granddaugher too. But I honestly didn't take her "heartbreaker" comment as that she is expecting Rory to dump Logan...

Blaab, Everwood was one of my favourite shows and I'm still not fully recovered from when it was cancelled. So my experience with the "will the show come back or not" with Everwood was so painful, that I decided to not think about a show returning before its current season is over...

And that is how I'm dealing with GG right now

Hi all. Sometimes I wonder how much of a glowing recommendation being liked by Emily is. She likes Chris and she also liked the jerk she set Rory up with in season 4, I think. I almost took that comment as a foreshadowing kiss of death for Logan. She is not a good judge of character IMO.

ETA I hope it's okay if I post here sometimes. I am a GG lover overall and would like to still read some of the posts from some of the folks I used to "see" on the MT.

Dean and Jess didn't last as long as Logan. So I wouldn't say that "being not liked by Emily" did anything to their favour either.

I think it's good that Rory's hole family likes Logan and it will be interesting to see Lorelai and Logan's interaction in a month.

I like Logan. I hope that he finds his way with Rory by his side. Even my husband likes R&L, and he is one tough customer. (He hates Luke, but I'll keep him anyway. LOL)
