Last spring, we watched as their partnership on the popular reality television show Dancing With The Stars turned into an off-camera romance. A year later and they're still going strong. Because I saw their relationship grow into something so sweet and caring and they always seem to have so much fun together! They reminded me of myself and my hubby when we first met! I also think they are both such down to earth people who truly care about others not to mention all the wonderful talent they both have!! Shannon and Derek are such a great couple because they seem to have so much fun together and love life as well as each other. They put each other first and are very supportive of one another. I think they just "get" each other.~roygbib

Their chemistry was undeniable . . . and as they were bashed by the DWTS judges & shown in a negative light by the producers, we began to root for them. They manage to maintain their relationship while juggling busy, demanding careers, but the love & support they have for one another remains constant. Obviously, we don't know them, but it's fun to keep track of them as a couple & to follow their individual endeavors. Who knew that in addition to dancing we'd be following poker & BHB? I think the main reason I ship Derek Hough and Shannon Elizabeth is they seem like real people, who found eachother doing the crazy show of Dancing With The Stars. Shannon is an amazing person, and a hero to me, she's given so much to be with Derek, and Derek is such a sweet guy, and Shannon truly brings out the best in him. I love Shannon and Derek because of their genuine care for each other. A perfect example of this is the VW rehearsals. Derek had hurt his neck while rehearsing with Julianne for a result show performance. Shannon was so concerned for him and felt like he wasn’t following the doctors orders. She even said that she would drop out of the competition so he could heal properly. I thought that was one of the sweetest things ever. Even to this day, they continue to not only show their care for each other, but also their support, commitment, and love for one another. It’s been a joy to follow their relationship and watch them grow as a couple, and I wish them the best of luck in the future.~gabegirl45

I just saw the pictures from last night on the previous thread. Yikes! What was Derek thinking?

You guys are really generous! He looks pretty terrifically awful! Maybe the power went off at casa del Shannon so his hair dryer wouldn't work and he had to get dressed in the dark? I can guess why there aren't any pictures of Derek and Shannon together. If I'm Shannon, when we get to the start of the red carpet I'm sending him on ahead while I stop to tie my shoe or something!

Glad I could be of service, lol. I am getting teased here so badly, but it's funny.....everyone keeps asking me "so what's Derek doing now?" then they roll their eyes, lol. "Why is he wearing a teenage mutant ninja turtles t-shirt? Is he 12 yrs old?" OMG.....they're giving me hell.....but it's all in good fun. I can laugh at my obsession....good thing!

Sorry, but I disliked both S/D's outfits from last night.....Shannon needs to upgrade her colorless wardrobe & Derek needs to lose the hat.....his hair is too gorgeous.

OT......but this is where I am right now:

We took this gondola ride yesterday....it was spectacular! Now getting ready for Sunday Champagne brunch......see you all a bit later & have a great day!

Carmen Thanks for the beautiful pic from your vaca. Champagne brunch sounds great also & thanks again for starting the thread on your vaca. Yes both S/D had strange outfits but D was really weird. I'm sure he was nervous about playing poker but at least he could have made an effort to be presentable. Sure wont attract any bunnies in that outfit HAHA. Even though Shannon was back to black & white I thought she looked gorgeous & very happy so I guess D attire did.t bother her. Her ex wears odd outfits from time to time & did in old pic of them.

Look forward to the interview that was mentioned.

Noresster I think Derek did want to be there. He loves playing poker. May have been nervous though

I'm feeling so out of synch here because I see no problem at all with how Derek was dressed. He was there to play poker, it wasn't the Academy Awards, and when you play poker, you need to dress however you feel comfortable dressing. Down or up, it doesn't matter. There are very few pics up of the guys and most of them are part of the Jenner/Kardashian family, who were the hosts. Even Brody Jenner was dressed very casually. The few pics we have of the tables, most guys seem to have on long sleeves of some kind and are very casually dressed. I think Derek is just dressing like someone his age in Hollywood. Here's a pic of Pete Wentz just a few weeks ago. A very similar look. Hmmm.... is plaid the new pink this summer?

Here are some more pictures from last night. These kind of events are tough to dress for. If you overdress It looks out of place too. Shannon wears black and white because its timeless. She always looks just right. Derek fits in with the other guys pictured here. They all dressed down. ..Wonder what the 2 drunks guys from NY were wearing. LOL
