Because I saw their relationship grow into something so sweet and caring and they always seem to have so much fun together! They reminded me of myself and my hubby when we first met! I also think they are both such down to earth people who truly care about others not to mention all the wonderful talent they both have!! Shannon and Derek are such a great couple because they seem to have so much fun together and love life as well as each other. They put each other first and are very supportive of one another. I think they just "get" each other.~roygbib

Their chemistry was undeniable . . . and as they were bashed by the DWTS judges & shown in a negative light by the producers, we began to root for them. They manage to maintain their relationship while juggling busy, demanding careers, but the love & support they have for one another remains constant. Obviously, we don't know them, but it's fun to keep track of them as a couple & to follow their individual endeavors. Who knew that in addition to dancing we'd be following poker & BHB? I think the main reason I ship Derek Hough and Shannon Elizabeth is they seem like real people, who found eachother doing the crazy show of Dancing With The Stars. Shannon is an amazing person, and a hero to me, she's given so much to be with Derek, and Derek is such a sweet guy, and Shannon truly brings out the best in him. I love Shannon and Derek because of their genuine care for each other. A perfect example of this is the VW rehearsals. Derek had hurt his neck while rehearsing with Julianne for a result show performance. Shannon was so concerned for him and felt like he wasn’t following the doctors orders. She even said that she would drop out of the competition so he could heal properly. I thought that was one of the sweetest things ever. Even to this day, they continue to not only show their care for each other, but also their support, commitment, and love for one another. It’s been a joy to follow their relationship and watch them grow as a couple, and I wish them the best of luck in the future.~gabegirl45

CarmenLove the title . Wish you could go to Vegas & Have a blast & report back.Sounds like this might have been a last minute thing for them. They had so much fun last year at the Bank that I'm not surprised they choose it again.

I haven't completely ruled out the trip....but you're right, danzfan......it is such short notice & that presents a greater challenge to plan....yikes, if only.......!! I have been toying with the idea of going to Vegas during WSOP....just wish I knew when Shannon (& Derek, hopefully) would be there for sure....I guess during the "Ante up for Africa" event. hmmmm....we need someone @ the b-day party....it seems mandatory, right? awwwww....thanks, Dancefan, that's sweet of you to say, but both my camera & I had a meltdown & I didn't get anywhere near the pics (or vids) I'd hoped for......my friends & sister-in-law fell under the spell of Derek's blue eyes as well, lol....there were a lot of fuzzy pics & many of the grass, sidewalk & sky

Partying with them in Vegas would be amazing....maybe WSOP (?)

If only you could go, carmen - think what fun that would be. Two days isn't very much time to plan a trip so I totally understand how it wouldn't be possible. ITA with sox fan - must have been a last minute plan. We got great pictures from last year's birthday party - hope we do as well this time.

Thanks for the new thread Carmen!! Man, too bad the Vegas thing is so last minute cause my girlfriend LOVES Vegas and would go with me for sure! But, I am actually going to Florida w/girlfriends on the 14th so there is no way I can do it....BUMMER! There has to be someone who is close to there!!

I too hurried home for news of "the dinner", but I have to go out in a half hour so I'll have to wait even longer than you all. The LV party sounds like fun, but I am a bit older than you gals and not as adventurous, sorry. Besides, my hubby is taking me on a European vacation next month which is costing a pretty penny. I'm sure we'll get pics like we did last time. Dancefan, loved your comment about lafan working the airport for incoming flights from the South Pacific

Can't wait to hear from her...hurry back lafan!

bearfan....glad to start the new thread! I tried Southwest.....they're outrageous if you don't book in advance....what do you mean by "dings?"
