Yeah.. I think had Klaus stick around, Hope wouldn't be able to really shine in her own show as in a way or another she would always be tied up with Klaus (I can't imagine he would just leave her dealing with whatever problems I'm sure she deals with in the show )

Right?! I could understand Rebekah plotting against Klaus alongside Marcel, the witches... but never something so drastic and permanent as getting Mikael to actually try to kill him that did not make sense at all to me

I agree I have a love/hate relationship with TPTB of the show so I'm always saying that they could've done a lot better

So, I will watch them.. I'll grab my mom and force her to watch with me, that way I'll have to watch them both (TVD and TO) till the end
Just letting you know (or reminding you ) I can be bitter and very closed mind with characters I don't like... just saying

I'm with you there. If I were to put on my criticizing, nitpicking hat when watching the show, I would have a lot of notes on what I wish could have done differently, especially when it comes to Klaus' journey.

I will keep that in mind.

Ugh... I hate that so much!!! I don't know how they made amends and all (since after I stopped watching TO in season 1 I basically only saw the Klaroline parts ) but that betrayal made me forever bitter with the writers because it really ruined that relationship for me.

Right!? I'm the same... it's ridiculous on my part, but I'm still bitter with the fact that TO was based on a baby plot... that's so eye-rolling IMO (no offense and all, I get that it was the only way for Klaus to find true love and all, but I just hate that pregnancy trope)

I remember that. I will always think of that part of their story as unnecessary drama and a blemish on their seemingly unbreakable bond.

It's totally understandable. Klaus' wolf side allowing him to get Hayley pregnant, despite the fact that he died over a thousand years before they had sex, was hard to accept. Why couldn't Klaus' reason for being in New Orleans been simply his desire to take back a city that he had had a hand in building? That was more than enough in my opinion.
